  • Live Mapping: Jon Roberts Overland

I think we both forgot that one.

But in our defense it was 2 years ago, and there have been nearly 100 shows since then.

It's probably a bit late to change it now that so many people have shown an interest over on FB today.

  • Using Ferraris fill styles on other maps

Take a look at the sheet effects in the Ferraris style. The sheet with the fields on it will probably have a blend mode set to multiply. You will need to copy that sheet effect across to the map you are making.

  • Playing with Creepy Crypts

Looks good, Ede - glad you are finding it useful :)

  • Gaps around imported bitmap floor tiles

    Thank you :)

I use Sketchup Pro myself. Strange that this texture was so oddly marred. They are usually a lot better than that.

  • How can you quickly restore missing symbols?

I guess the only thing to do, since I assume that they didn't get rid of any of the old symbols but just reorganised them and added more (major assumptions), is to install the new CSUAC and find the files then open the relevant catalogues and click on the ones you think should be in the map, then use Replace in the Symbol Manager.

But that does seem like quite a lot of messing around. Maybe TS have the answer.

  • One Day Worldbuilder FT3+ Find River Issue

@Calibre Do you only have access to FT3+?

FT3 is still working fine for the ODW purposes, but I don't know if people who have bought FT3+ recently also have access to FT3.

We are continuing to work on FT3+, so hopefully the issues that have cropped up will not be there for much longer.

    Hi everyone! :D

It's time for another episode of the big city mapping project. In this fourth episode, Ralf will be focusing on some detail work for important city locations.

    You can watch it here:

  • Style Request: East Asian Floorplan/Dungeon

Plan view styles also contain a wider range of assets because you only have to draw each thing once, instead of 4 times.

Don't worry. If I end up doing something like this, it will most likely follow the Japanese Temple and Japanese Village convention and be called something beginning with "Japanese". East Asian is a category that is far too diverse to be done in a single style anyway. You would need at least 10 or so.

EDIT: Actually I realise now that one of those styles was Asian Town, but that one was much less specific than the Japanese Temple style. With something as specific as this it would have to be "Japanese..."

  • Community Atlas - Berenur - Urtrah Desert

The only way you could improve that last one is if you take the shadow off the outcrops and draw one. At the moment the shadow is appearing on the wrong side of the cliffs.

  • Dunes Varicolor in Overland Schley Symbols not changing color

@OwlishlyTaboo - You and Ralf posted at the same time. Ralf's update will solve the varicolour issue.

As for the export problems I think you may need to adjust your settings a bit.

There appears to be some horizontal banding going on. Type EXPORTSETMPPP and hit return. You will see a number in the command line at the bottom that is probably 4 million (4000000). Type 40000000 (40 million) and hit enter again. That will greatly increase the width of each band and make those stripes less likely to happen.

When you export your map using Save as... pick the type of export and then click the Options button. These settings seem to do quite well at most maps, giving you a map that is 3000 px on the longest side.
