Do you think these are a good compromise?

They look a bit flat in CC3. I think it's back to Blender for better contrast lighting on the sides.

    Thanks Joe :)

I did think about map shading, but I think they would probably not look good in a lit dungeon, or mixed with non-mapped DD3 symbols. In the end I opted for what my college art tutor used to call 'bean can shading' (mostly when he was criticizing my imaginary drawings because there was no real and observed lighting involved), where the vertical sides are simply dark and the horizontal face up side is highlighted.

I will experiment a bit with adding the highlight by hand, but it's late for me now, so that might not appear until Monday.

  • Wet medley and a city!

    You've done a wonderful job, Ale :)

Do the labels need to be so large and the glow so intense?

  • Token Treasury symbols for commercial use

    Hi Gathgar :)

The EULA is here if you want to refer to it at any point in the conversation: https://www.profantasy.com/service/license.asp

While I am employed by Profantasy I work on the art side of things more than anything, so I can't really give you a definitive answer. For that you will have to contact Profantasy directly using the email link "Licensing questions" on the contact page here: https://www.profantasy.com/service/default.asp

Service is good, so you should get an answer before too long.

  • change size of map

You can use the Resize Drawing Area option in the File menu to adjust the size.

When the dialog opens it will show you the current size of the map in map units. Edit those numbers to change the size of the map. The existing drawing will remain as it was in the bottom left corner of the new drawing area, but it's easy enough to move it if you wanted more space all around.

Never seen either of those things before, but I'll see if I can fit them on the list for you Joe :)

Let me see what I can do with varicolour first.

I also need to remember that I need to do more Creepy Crypt stuff! LOL!

  • Made a custom Wagner VII projection, but is there already a template available?

There are several ready made projections available in the March issue of the 2014 Cartographer's Annual if you have it (you get to them by opening a new overland map and selecting "Pick a pre-defined template"), but none of them are Wagner VII.

    Well done - a beautiful map :)

  • Ferraris Style; Ramparts Not Working

When I opened your map I saw the pits as you described them

I copied the pitted polygon to the WATER sheet by right clicking the hourglass and using the "Copy to sheet" option to copy it to the WATER sheet.

    And got this result.

All it does is add a backing to the overlying polygon to separate it from the underlying one. Normally you have to then go and change the copy to be a solid colour that isn't in the texture, but it seems to work fine without that.
