What type of map are you making?

Overland maps are in kilometers or miles

City maps and dungeon maps are in meters and feet.

You can't have a fraction of a map unit when you create a file.

I love the way you have left the roof ridges in on that first shot.

I rarely ever use either Cosmographer or the predefined templates. Kudos for knowing that one.

You seem to be using FT3, while I am using FT3.5, so the appearance of the toolbars may be different.

At the moment your map is showing the Gaia view like this. You should find that is the option checked in the Map menu.

Pick the Show Altitude option instead to return to the altitude view.

The map views are persistent between sessions, so restarting is no good.

Interestingly, this poll is going in quite a different direction to the similar one on the FB Group page.

I would say there are probably a higher proportion of lurkers looking for handy maps to use on the FB page, though, and not so many actual CC3+ mappers.

Requests noted in the chat are as follows:

At the point in the process where you right click (after you have picked Copy from the Edit menu) you should get this pop up

The Window option is 6th in that list. Pick it and then continue with the process. I think the bits you don't understand will become clear to you once you start with the Copy tool in the Edit menu.

If it doesn't, just say.

Have you tried stacking the cliff symbols?

Check that the layer it's on isn't frozen.
