Posted By: Jensen1. I may use content (symbols, styles etc.) from all official ProFantasy products (annuals etc) 2. Within the boundaries of the original map I may add details (towns, villages, temples etc.) 3. Is it just making the map or am I allowed to add a small "setting" (tribes, religions, wars etc.)? If yes, of course with some written notes
Yes, as long as they are officially CC3+ compatible (no converting old stuff yourself)
Yes. But please keep scale in mind when you populate your map. The valley itself is over 600 miles long, and the total area shown in your cutout above is about 750,000 square miles, i.e. the same size as the entire country of Mexico. At this scale, you are probably not realistically going to be seeing smaller settlements like villages and such, those are probably best saved for the next detail level based on a section of your map again. Of course, it is up to you exactly what to put in there, but I wanted to mention the scale because it is so easy to overlook this when looking at this nice "small" valley Also note, that in addition to put in structures like cities and such, feel free to change terrain features as is reasonable for a more detailed map. Not everything will be represented accurately on a low-detail continent map, so some refinement is expected (and encouraged) for the detail level map. The idea is to make it your own map, within the boundaries that this is still a believable detail section from the parent map.
The main idea is to make the map, but if you want to detail it more, text can be added as a map note to your map (containing information about culture, history, religion, and whatever else you wish to describe), and also as a downloadable pdf. Just note that the map note is text-only, so keep that in mind before creating a nicely formatted document.
I'm having a few what you might call 'real life issues' right now, and Sanctuary is simply not happening. So instead of just hanging on to it forever and a day so that no one else can have a go at it, I'm going to admit that I just can't do it, and hand it back over.
Please will you un-reserve Sanctuary City?
Thank you - and I'm sorry, Lorelei. There's just no way I can do it.
Remy - the symbols and fills I gave you - please will you leave them available for the rest of the world mappers, since that was always my intention.
Sorry to hear that Sue, I was looking forward to seeing your city.
But if you are certain this is what you want to do, I will of course honor your wishes. But there are more than enough cities in Nibrium that needs mapping, so holding on to it doesn't really hurt the atlas project in any way.
Having it is prickling my conscience quite badly, since I know how unlikely it is to happen if its left to me to do. It could be years - 2 or 3 perhaps, and all the while the rest of the world will be growing, but Lorelei's continent will be missing one of its major cities.
I would like to claim the region of the Southern Scar on Alarius. I've had a few sleepless nights lately and have managed to find a bit of mapping energy.
Posted By: YortIf no one has any objections I would love to tackle the area of Duin Elisyr
Welcome to the project. The area is yours. Happy mapping
Remember to keep the scale in mind, that continent is absolutely huge, and the area you have outlined, while only a tiny piece of it, is still nearly 600 by 500 miles. This is 300,000 square miles, or about the size of the country of Turkey, which should help you decide which kind of details would be visible in a map of this scale.
The 2nd floor of Krok & Spyd have been added to the atlas. Thanks to Lorelei for yet another great map.
For those wishing to download the entire atlas, you may wish to wait until I have added a few more of JimP's great perspective dungeon maps tomorrow, but it is to late for me to process more maps today.
I'd like to participate It seems really fun, and my own projects will be weeks apart. It would be a shame to let the skills I'm building fade in those times.
If it isn't taken yet, I'd like to do something with this keep and the cave behind it in Glaciär Kristol.
It looks like the buildings in the Forrestal Manor Ruins map are (still) reserved. If they are still reserved in my name I would like to begin working on them again.
I think I'll work on the rectangle area on this map. I may adjust it based on what I come up with. May do the lighthouse area and the end of the Dead Forest as separate maps... or together and two smaller area maps. Not quite sure yet.
edit: just measured it and the distance is 25 miles by 13 miles. Seems fairly easy to do as one map.
Great. I'll reserve it for you. Remember that Shessar's Forrestal ruins map is set in the ruins at the far eastern edge of that area, so make sure to have an appropriate ruin in your map for that area that can be linked to Shessar's detail map.
Hi Jim, that area is unfortunately already reserved, but there are plenty of other regions around the coast of Doriant with similar features. You can see reserved areas by clicking the button below the map in the atlas.
As for the red dots, given the huge scale of the Doriant continent, those would represent major cities as far as I can tell (HadrianVI would be the one to give the final verdict though, since he designed this map).
As for the Dead Forest, just remember that Shessar's Manor Ruins is in there when you detail it, so you don't place something completely different in that location. You can see the placement from the link on your South Basher Bay map in the atlas.

So - yes, please - if you would be so kind.
Sorry again!
Yes, I'm aware of Hadrian's awesome map.
I just became aware of this project and think it is a truly fantastic idea.

Are the red dots towns ? Forts ? Cities ?
Here is the selected part. 800x600.
I'll also be working on Dead Forest.
