LOL! Ok. My answer is only slightly different.

    Whenever you are ready.

    ...

I should add right away that there is no need to delete a whole contour line because of one mistake. There are editing tools and methods that take a few seconds - even if you've realised you switched contours half way around. But we can talk about that closer to the time when you start mapping again. I just wanted you to know now you don't have to do that to yourself.

    Thank you :)

LOL! I'm tempted to keep the road to nowhere now, but yes - it was a test. This whole map, which is about 8x the area you can see in the first shot, is a test site.

I don't know why the rivers do that. They are there and whole. It might be the way the effects are being read and displayed, though it's only an outer glow to match the inner glow on the land at the coast. It renders ok.

    Thanks Royal :)

I don't think I have, Ricko. Displace looks different at different zoom levels sometimes, but it's hard to remember if I changed a sheet effect or not over the several months since then.

    Sorry it's been so long!

I spent a long time getting the mountains and hills just right

...and then started on the Structures. These are the default cities.

And here are some towns and hut villages.

  • Seeking: Feather, scale fills

It sounds like what you really need for those wings is a symbol rather than a texture. Feathers have a definite direction, so a fill would look wrong in all but one direction because you can't align a Texture Overblend effect.

    As for scales...

I might have stopped work to spend a few hours churning out a few scale type fills that might or might not have been what you are looking for, but I'm on a time limit with CC4 Overland and a bit too busy to stop right now. Unless this is for a commercial map I would suggest searching for "Seamless scale texture" and seeing what comes up.
