    Thank you :)

It's an annual issue for later this year, and was initially inspired by DD3, though I have already gone off on something of a tangent with the colour scheme to the point where Creepy Crypts is now distinctly different. That is not to say that you won't be able to use DD3 symbols and fills with it if you want to - just that I am no longer adhering as strictly to the colours and textures of DD3.

I've more or less done all the textures now, so the next few weeks should see some suitable symbols appearing in the test map.

Long time without any visible sign of progress, but I can guarantee there's been a lot of work going on behind the scenes. The hardest part for me isn't the symbols as much as getting the textures to look right. Here is a sample of the textures I've made so far - an extract showing the various rocks, stones, dirts and a bit of water. The sample covers a range from formal tomb to creepy catacombe. I'd be interested to hear what you think.

Remember, this isn't about the symbols yet. It's just the fills. You will have to imagine all the spider webs, fungus and mummies, though I have added a single tomb from DD3 to show the scale of these fills.

  • Path control points showing up in render

Try pressing CTRL+F, which toggles the control point visibility. What's visible in the map (that isn't a snap grid) will be visible in the render.

Well, whether they get used or not, I've 10 new grass textures to start the collection off for this style, most of which can be mixed and matched with DD3 grass textures (probably not the dry grass ones, though).

Next job are the dirt textures.
