  • WIP: Tighten up the Kuiper belt

Do you mean more like this?

In this example there are two circles. Both are affected by the Edge Fade, Inner, which is as wide as the radius of the outer circle minus the radius of the inner circle. The inner circle is the knockout colour of the Color Key, which subtracts the inner circle, leaving a ring. Then the Blur fades the inner extent. The blend mode is just to further reduce the transparency and make it more part of the background than something hovering in front of it. In this example I used Screen and left transparency at 100%

I'm not sure how smooth the result will be when rendered out. This is my image at 3000 px square, but if you export too large you may end up with rendering issues.

  • Festive Winter Card Challenge WIP: Frosty Village

    Thank you :)

I drew an interlocking zig zag pattern with 2 straight lines like a herringbone pattern, and then converted the lines from straight to smooth. I used the bronze inlay fill from Marine Dungeon to make it look metallic, like those fancy borders you sometimes get on Christmas Cards.

While a glance suggests they are ok, they are a little dated.

  • First Map

    That's a pretty good first map :)

The next stage is to start playing with the sheet effects like the shadows to see what different results you can get. For example, those smaller shadows are a lot sharper than the taller ones on the trees. Maybe they could do with a little more blur on them?

  • issue exporting

    No problem, Ricko :)

Though the result is much better this time I can still see a very faint glitch across the middle of that map, so you might want to either reduce the size of the glow or shadow, or export at a slightly smaller size, because I'm not sure it is wise to go much higher than 40 million. (Maybe @Monsen would know?)

The relatively low default setting is so that people with less powerful computers can export without issue.
