Curse of the Crimson Crown (Pathfinder Adventure Path)
Yes, I agree actually. I'd originally just made the water shading as subtle as I could, and I'll probably switch back. I can always place a map legend in the corner if it looks too empty.
I've not had much chance to work on this recently, but got back onto it tonight.
There's lots of ropes strung between the woodwork in the hidden area beneath the old fishery, and I wasn't sure if I could make them look good just using lines and paths in CC3, but I had a quick play around and I'm quite please with how they turned out.
I just need to add furniture and junk now, more ropes to tie up the boats and I'll be mostly done.
There is a higher resolution copy in my gallery.

SS2 Mapping Guide or Essentials
I don't think that there is a manual, I don't seem to have one either, there is a SS2 tutorial section in the Tome of Ultimate Mapping. It's really a different set of fill styles and symbols for DD3, and so that DD3 essentials should be enough to get started.
There's no guides for SS1 or SS3 either as far as I can tell.
I'd expect SS2 to appear as a dungeon style, as "dungeon" seems to be used for all "fantasy floorplan" styles and "floorplan" is used for Modern / Retro / Sci-fi ones.
Edit: Remy was too fast for me there!

There are DM demos of FoundryVTT available:
Here https://dnd5e.doomnaught.com/
And here https://sws.doomnaught.com/
I guess for 5E and Savage Worlds.
I believe that the demos are of the "works for an hour, then you lose everything" type. I've not tried either, I read enough about the PF2 capabilities to decide that it was worth a punt for my games and just bought a licence.
I'll still let you know how things go in a couple of weeks when I hopefully start using it. ?
