WIP: Mega-dungeon, Dorag Skel Level 1A
Hi Folks,
Quite awhile ago, well before I started using CC3+ for my maps, I had a play around with generating a random dungeon using the tables in the D&D5E Dungeon Masters Guide. This WIP is the result of tracing my original PS CS4 work. There's still quite a bit to finish. Not every room will be furnished but they will all be labelled and I'll finish placing the doors and other bits and pieces and mask the background. The map is 620'x 440'.

WIP: Fane of the Swamp People...
Another update. Moved & fixed some walls, drew the outside wall shadows on a separate sheet and turned off the WALLS, wall shadow sheet effect. Added a glow to the floors, put the doors in. Now I've just got to finish dressing it and tidy up the water/land junction, finish labelling it and I think it'll be done...and remove that lonely S sitting on the grass...

Watabou + Ferraris
Hi Folks,
Over on the FB page I've posted 2 maps using the techniques for the Watabou annual style; one is in Watabou style, the other in Ferraris style, sort of. The latter is a WIP as it's taking me a little time to work out that style, it's much, much more complex than the Watabou style. I actually re-drew the water as it was easier than changing with the drawing tool.
Any tips and tricks for the Ferraris style would be appreciated.

WIP Commission, Ancient Tombs
@suntzu I've made an archive and I'll also make a copy when time permits and have a crack at installing the Vintyri stuff into the copy. That way if I mess it up I'm not losing anything. Most of my maps I either save to a Google Drive folder or a separate folder on my hard drive. I think I get what you're saying now but for me, if that's the best practice way to have multiple instances open on the Mac, it's too damn confusing. I'd mess that up for sure. As my old mate Clint Eastwood once said, "A man's gotta know his limitations."
The Level 2 map is done now apart from labelling and a compass rose, whew. This one I think took longer then the first but thatere was a lot more mucking around with the walls and stuff and I learnt a lot.
Oops, still missing the door to Room 24 and I've got to copy the curtains (tapestries) on the left wall of 18.

Commission WIP
Righto. After some feedback from the author, I've done a bit of fiddling; moving the shaft and crevasse about 5.5m to the right - did that using relative coordinates via the command line - that was interesting. Would you believe, after going to the trouble of scaling the reference map ( a pretty rubbish and loose sketch, NOT drawn to scale, if I'm honest) so the shaft, the most important feature of the map was near enough to the correct size, I then proceeded to trace the resized map. No surprise then the distance between the cliffs and the shaft and the shaft and forest are completely off. I also added some bits and pieces. The vertical ruin just to the bottom right of the shaft, a request by the author for some standing ruin, I'm not happy with at all but they're the best I could find and I'll be buggered if I'm hand drawing them - if the publisher and author don't like them I'll happily remove them but they won't be getting anything in their stead. Unless there is some other error on my part this map is done. I've spent far too much time on it already.

Live Mapping: 1930s Street Maps
Ok Folks,
Been doing a little bit here and there as time permits. I'm interpreting the source map as best I can, as @Ralf pointed out, it's a little difficult to delineate clear blocks as the source map, for the most part, only shows the street frontages. Here is a WIP of where I'm at...
I haven't researched this, but in this 'alternate' version of The Rocks, the large building and the docks on the Sydney Cove side is going to be the Passenger Terminus, whilst the other docks will be for commercial shipping with the large blocks nearby representing warehouses.

Latest Commission Completed
Hi All,
Just finished a large, detailed dungeon map for a client. I've uploaded the GM version to my gallery here: https://forum.profantasy.com/profile/gallery/6719/jmabbott/47
Primarily done in SS4, with some symbols from DD3, a Cosmographer annual - the one with the planet symbols in it and the CSUAC, along with some custom drawing + a piece of art work from the client inserted as a symbol. I made the trap numbering symbols (the adventure uses random generation for a lot of them) and saved them as a catalogue! That was...interesting. I even managed to set them up with a text entry field (for the numeric value) - very advanced for me...
I also provided the client with a player version which made extensive use of the colour key effect on the Wall Mask Sheet/GM Only layer. What I did there was place the Wall Mask sheet below the walls sheet and then drew the colour key polygons where required. I also submitted an unumbered GM version (room numbers on a separate sheet).
All in all, an interesting project with a few creative challenges...
Client was a pleasure to work with and payed promptly, actually before receiving the final copies...
Hopefully, they're happy and give me more work.
