  • Outlaws of Desolation Peak

The latest and no doubt final update! I have a couple of spots left if anyone wants to play - no experience necessary! This is a beginner friendly adventure hosted on Roll20 and Discord. There are 6 pre-generated characters already set up (3 confirmed players so far looking for at least another 2, maybe 3). The game will start at 8.00pm AEDT (UTC+11) Saturday. PM me if you wanna join in the mayhem and I'll send the appropriate links.

The blurb to my regular group:

    Howdy Y'all!

Black Jack Ketchum and his Hole in the Wall gang have been terrorising the kindly folk of Desolation Peak, New Mexico and have brought the operations of the Twin Peaks Mining Co to a halt. Brave souls are needed to bring him and his gang of cut-throats in, dead or alive. Will you answer the call?

  • Community Atlas: The Vale, Panaur

@Monsen Here is the final map for the atlas. I'd like first dibs on mapping the cities/towns (with @Loopysue's matching style when it's released), the copper mine and other POI as they arise, namely some of the encounter areas from the supplement if that's OK.

I'll post all the completed maps in this thread as they're done.

  • My First Attempt at Village Scale...

Thanks for your comments and suggestions folks.

'The Keep' is the main headquarters for the town guard. The larger, north wall is the City outer wall, everything 'South of it is within the city, hence no need for 'internal' crenellations - it's designed to keep people out, not in. Well, that's my take on it at least. Additional battlements are not part of the brief and therefore won't be included.

Here is a modified version based on your feedback...thanks again.

  • Live Mapping: 1930s Street Maps

    Hi All,

This is nearly done. Last update before I finish it.

Just got to fix one, make that two, obvious errors (see if you can pick them), add in a street and 1 more building block (just to the right of Hickson St in the SW portion near the school) and the indexes for named buildings, places of worships and roads/streets.

All in all hasn't turned out too badly.

  • Dhakos, The City of Spires - Watabou Cities Annual

Here's another update. This will do for today.

The majority of the city blocks are done, just go to finish the outside ones on the eastern side and then use the colour key to break them up. Which, based on the existing blocks, will be fairly time consuming - but worth the effort I think. Then its just a key and some simple labels.

  • OSR Dungeon Tiles - Quick Test

Added the transperency effect at 70% to the FLOOR layer and much happier now. This will do me!

  • WIP Commission, Ancient Tombs

    Hi Folks,

I think I'm done. So there is the 4 dungeon maps, the city map, the below regional map and an excerpt of the main map (which unfortunately I can't post due to a NDA). Phew! I'm glad that's done.

Can I just say, and I'm not being a brown nose, how much I like this software. Despite the frustration when something doesn't turn out how I want, or the minor peculiarities with my setup, it is sensational. I can only imagine that those of you with more experience, would get these maps done in 1/2 the time or less than it takes me. But I will get there! If only reading 'text' books didn't put me to sleep...

Anyhow, here is the last map, unless there are obvious flaws I'm calling it done - subject to client approval.

  • Commission WIP!

OK. So I've re-titled this post to be more appropriate.

I've re-done the cliff, much happier with this version, and started laying in some buildings on the main roads - adjustments need to be made. I adjusted the size of these to be a bit larger than the default size when using the street tool - these are for the more affluent residents. The rich residents will mainly be on the cliff in walled, large villas. The 'poor' buildings will likely be done using the block tool

I did a test print at 300ppi and it looks pretty good - I'll use that to plan out the rest as I read through the city descriptions.

If I were charging more, I'd probably get rid of the shadow on the cliff and shade it properly in Affinity photo...

  • WIP: New Dungeon Commission

After a far too long hiatus; Christmas holidays and technical issues with the remote connection to my work PC (as well as substanial laziness on my part), have all contributed to the delays. I gave myself a firm slap on the back of the head and told myself to bloody well get on with it!

Anywho, here is a long overdue update...

  • Scaling Bitmap Fills

Changed the fill style for the crenellations to be the same as the base wall. Copied them to new sheets directly below and above. The below sheet was coloured solid red with no sheet effects; the sheet above very light grey with an Overlay blend mode at 25% to lighten them a tad.

The jury is out on whether I'll bother with the floor fill styles, it looks OK and at print size most of the detail will be lost anyhow...

Still to add the remaining walls, primary residence and outbuildings as ruins. Then I've got a complicated city map to do by the end of next week! Thanks heavens there's not a lot on TV! Though the weekend is pretty full with family and other stuff...
