  • Hot Water Recirculation shenanigans

So, essentially, I've had to put mapping on halt for a few because it is required that I produce a bulk of text which - apparently - must have some degree of academical merit to it.

As it quickly turned out, 99% of the illustrations in the theoretical body of work are 100% indicative of engineers being engineers first, and (somtimes reluctant) illustrators second. Which is sad, beacause heat transfer in concentric cylinders deserves a touch of elegance - even if it isn't the most complicated subject matter.

And what better way to sprinkle the paper with elegance than by delicious, crisp polygons?

Yes, yes; absolutely massacred the perspective of the exerior tube - but look at the COLOUR KEY at work!

  • Multisheet symbols (first impression)

To conclude: I like multisheet symbols.

That's it for tonight, I think.

  • City parts - Fuchswald Schlucht, Imperial Sector

    There is that, of course.

Better off fixing the monstrosity that is the kerning of the letter F, then! :)

Also, the repetition of words makes it awfully apparent that it is is, in fact, a word processor at work: nothing a little Colour Key and smooth polygon can't sort out, however.

  • WIP - Water's Edge Exercise Distraction

Water's edge excersise needs beach. Beach also needs cliffs. Cliffs need Conwy castle rehash. Conwy castle rehash needs immediate surroundings. Surroundings demand space. Space facilitates flying monsters.

I am my own worst enemy.

  • WIP Urban sepia

Celebrating third week with omicron* pushing out some sidewalk paving on this one. I will most likely end up toning down the lines of the sidewak somewhat, seeing as they are - of everything in view - the farthest away.

Gonna have to work out what to do with the elevated tracks (i.e. beams or no beams for the topside). There is time for that now, however, since I used colour key to cut out parts of the contours of the sleepers where the rail runs. I really like breaking contours of a to-the-back element when something crosses over it, but it just takes forever when you do it manually (i.e. fake-lifting the pen for each sleeper).

*I lost olfactory more or less entirely, which is not great but also not terrible: between no scent and taste, and everything tasting like **** I am kind of glad it's the former to be honest.

  • Searching for symbols for WW2 and modern military vehicles, artillery etc.

Another take on the VI. I think the trick is probably to do turrets as a seperate symbol entirely, @Lizzy_Maracuja: it allows for rotation options - and with or without the turret that also gives you a nice platform for wreckages.

  • A Teleport Hub

    Cool stuff!

One way is adding more sheets for additional, superimposed, tiers of cave wall - say two or three - where you gradually alter the shading properties for each so as to create a sense of depth.

Granted, it's more of a paper theatre approach - but who doesn't love paper theatre?

That's awesome, @Elfling; do show and tell!

I think for a video, geometry is probably the best topic!

@Monsen would insist that it's not really a map, of course. Which kind of makes me want to put continents on it. An entire world sitting in a corner of a box is probably one of the cooler takeaways from the Men in Black series.
