October Challenge WIP
So I finally found thhe time to start on my part of the october challenge.
I am doing area 20 using this as my referece:
After starting in different styles about ten times I decided to use the John Speed City Style from the 2007 annual.
I kin dof forgot, that I wanted to make this a WIP threat, so I came quite far before remembering to put it here, but done it is not yet.

October Community Challenge - City Streets - VOTING POLL in first post
This is Area 20 ready for submission.
@Lillhans Seeing, that the road from area 19 also runs through this one I shamelessly stole the name Beggars Lane.

Too early for a CC4 wishlist thread, or is it timely?
OK,
first the things I would like to stay:
- User Interface: I don't really care if its "modern" or not, but what I like about CC3 ist, that the buttons als simple. The Icons fill the buttons completely. In many more modern apps, buttons are bigger, with the icons in them smaller. I don't like that.
- It is a CAD Programm, NOT an art program and I love that. With it I can create maps I find beautifl, without the talent to draw better than I did in kindergarden.
Things I would like to see:
- The abillity to open more thhan one view of a map with effects active in one view and inactive in the other.
- The abillity to put the sidebars, tools on my second screen, similar to how it can be done in ft3, giving more screenspace to the map
Everything else like using multiple cores was already mentioned by someone else

So, It looks as if I will complete this.
It's just putting down some moe decorations, fiddling with parts where I overlooked something. Then I will most likely do a small overland Map to depict where it is exactly within the atlas. But that I can do when it is march...
And some close ups of the smaller areas:

After thinking a lot about what to do and not having a lot of time to do so, I started sketching on paper while at work.
I knew I wanted to do aa glacier with something volcanic below. It took about 15 ideas until I settled on a map in 5 parts.
1: The glaciercave
2: A sumberged tunnel to a cave within the mountainside
3: The cave in the mountain
4: The manmade temple/hideout adjacent to a slowly growing lake of lava.
5: An outside vierw of the glacier entrance
Lets see if I can actually do this...
This is the sketch:
That ist how "far" I've gotten so far. I decided to use SS4 for this, but the central part will most likely be done with polygons and effects, maybe inspired by the watercolor style.

In my mind I had this small story, where the Neighborhood Watch was founded as a reaction to the church of secrets. They have no idea, that they aber right beside the Thieves Guild. Depending on which thief is asked, this either means the thieves are exceptionally good, or the watch is exceprionally bad. In thurth it most likely means the thieves guild is very good in determining which leader of the watch needs to be bribed the most. I have been listening to some Terry Pratchet books though...
Made some tiny adjustments and modified the church and the guild to look more unique. I think it is done.
