I would leave the vegetation symbols as they are, maybe play around with different shadow lenghts, and change the grass and dirt textures to less noisy ones, maybe with some darker and lighter patches with semitransparent and edge faded polygons.

The main road look as if it is elevated, maybe the glow should be inside, so it looks a little lower than the surrounding lots.

Wonderful Idea, I love styles that fit well with other styles.

Most of what I would love to see is has already been mentioned (Marekt Stalls for the win!)

What I would like to see:

smaller Walls/Fences (maybe more of a drawingtool thing, that a symbol)

some vegetation other than trees

dead vegetation.

I don't know if this was already suggested, but you can set the edge stripping effect so be present on the inside of polygon. You could add the same edge stripping that is on the land sheet (or an adjusted version) to the lake sheet, just on the inside, rather than the outside as with lands.
