[WIP] Project-A
Thank You for your input. The aurora from my location is most of the Green or white coloring with some red when it is really active (65 degrees North) So my representation is based on that. With that said the color and type of background has a huge effect on the color of the lights more than what I expected. I still have a long way to go to get things to look the way I want them to and to get some reflections in the water during the day. Your suggestion are always welcome and helpful. I will continue to work on the project and refine I hope the lighting as that is the biggest issue right now. The other problem I have with the aurora is the upper edge is too soft but I do not know if I can fix that as there is very little control on lighting so to help with that I placed a color band under the upper lights which does help but not with sharpness.
I'm not trying to make a photo realistic image in CC3 but more a map that is more like a photo than a map if that makes sense. I guess that is part of my mapping problem I don't see thing is a fantasy setting I see things in a more realistic setting which is a draw back for mapping in some regards.
Here is an example of how much the background effects the lights.

WIP: Exeder
I started working on converting a 30 year old hex map to a CC3+ Overland style (Spectrum Overland). I added more rivers and the mountains changed a bit but think it represents the original map.
I might need to scale down the mountains and hills.
Please let me know how to improve the map.

Endoria
I have been working to bring the World of Endoria to life in CC3. The person I'm doing this for has been running a DND game in Endoria for 20+ years now and I'm building the map from his collection of crude pencil drawing and filling in the rest of the world as I see fit. The world is huge and it is taking longer than expected but I'm making progress. Now that the August Contest entries are completed I have been able to work on the Monster Lands and surrounding area to produce a regional map ina jpeg image as I have not broken out the region into a separate map yet.
I decided to post what I have been working on to get some feedback into what I can do better and what I maybe missing. The style is Sue's Overland Spectrum with building from Darklands.
I may post the entire map later as it is currently rough and only has some areas fleshed out but not real happy with some of those areas. So here is what I'm currently working on.

[WIP] Lighting Strike
I thought this was done but I keep going back to it as I was working on other projects. Just looking at it with a sense that something was missing. I think I figured out what was wrong and made a very subtle change that I think completes the project. I posted the updated project in the gallery and because the change is so subtle I was not going to post it here again. I decided to post it anyway to see if other people felt the same way as I did. The change is adding wildlife to the first and third panels just a few but I think it brings the whole project together and for me I no longer have that feeling of it missing something or being incomplete.

Live Mapping: Herwin Wielink Overland
Well I converted the non-hex version and found that I messed things up when I did the original so I had to fix all of the mistakes. Also during the conversion I decided to change some stuff around and I think I have a better version all around now. At some point I will readdress the original Spectrum Overland style and make some changes to it but that will be at a much later date.
Here is the Herwin Wielink Overland conversion.
Comments and suggestions always welcome.

Endoria
Well I decided to post in this thread instead of creating a new one. I have finished the eastern portion of the world. I know this is a large map with way too much detail but that is what the person I'm doing this for wanted and it's too late to change now. He plans on printing a large format print with detail to hang in his game room. He created this world over 40 years ago and had very little of the world explored so except for the area he had already mapped out I'm able to have free rein over how it looks.
I still need to update political regions (turned off on this posting) and label the rivers but most everything else is completed.
Once the map is completed I add sea contours and a few islands along with scale and compass.
