  • Winter Village style development (March 2022 CA issue)

I also suspect sun exposure is a primary factor in terms of snow melt on rooftops.

So depending on the direction the house is facing, and the surrounding temperature factors... The snow might be getting sunlight but the morning might still be really cold, and in the afternoon the sun might have moved to another side while the day has reached its maximum temperature.

I guess I'm saying it might be fairly arbitrary how the snow melts when you take out directional facings.

Kind of a random fact, but some places use much steeper roofs because if the snow was allowed to accumulate too much on top it might get too heavy for the structure.

  • Created a TAPERPATH command

An example of some tapering I did real quick as an example in five minutes or so (should be able to tell which river lines are tapered and which are not)

you might notice the blocky shape doesn't always cleanly connect. If it's really bad I would move a node little bit, but it could also be an issue where you are trying to make the river a little too wide for the curves it's making (like nearing the mouth of the largest river on the right-side here- looks a little jagged)

If I were zoomed fully out, this wouldn't be noticeable, but it's also because I put something like 20 miles wide on that river.

  • First Map

    Nice first map.

One thing I've noticed in my own progression from first map to around 10 or so is that I try not to let the ground textures have too much repeating. There are different shades of grass and dirt that can blend in to throw in some differences, and sometimes even shading from hills or other symbols to break things up. The ground is rarely one sort of grass without any discrepancies, even in modern lawns there tend to be areas that get more sun and look a little different from other areas that get too much shade where the dirt starts to show through.

It's pretty nice concept otherwise, I like it.

  • How to use PALSAVE and PALLOAD

I was just messing with this myself last night.

It seems like if you right-click, navigate, and type in a name, it somehow fails when you hit enter.

But then if you click (which runs the tool again) you see the path in the command as a default and you can just hit enter or retype it as you see it from there.

It was quite difficult to fully understand what was happening though so take that with a grain of salt.
