Hey @Loopysue, I think that this could be simplified using the drawing tool Draw ->"symbols along" on the perimeter of the texturized area and then delete those unwanted? A quick test lead to:

I think that playing a bit with symbol size, overlapping and position (front rear) could do a good job...

I just noticed the goat! Oh my god, I love that goat!

I think @Fersus meant a black thin outer glow, rather than the edge stripe. But I like it! Expecially on the river it gives a good sense of movement!

That's very nice! The use of different symbols sizes to create the effect of perspective is wonderful!
