  • Oh No, Not Another Homlet!

It's a coincidence but I have been working on these maps this weekend, and today I noticed that pkfrye had posted the same maps.

I thought I'd post mine as an example of how 2 people can interpret the same original map.

My maps are player maps so they don't show any secrets or text (beyond the scale), and I have just tried to copy the maps as presented, unlike pkfrye who has added detail and excellently decorated each room.

I also needed a tavern for a Ravnica game and this will do for that.

I have also posted the original maps for comparison.

Welcome then to the Welcome Wench, pull up a stool, have an ale, and listen to tales of the Temple of Elemental Evil.

    Hi Jm,

    I love this style, I'm unashamedly old-school.

Is this a map style in CC3+, and if so where can I find it? Or, do you just use another style like Mike Schley (for example) and just colour everything blue and white with the change properties tool?

Either way I think it looks fantastic. I've thought about running an AD+D game in roll20 (I just finished putting my campaign world into roll20) and considered using blue floor plans and black and white tokens from the original MM, MM2, and FF.

  • Feydakin Sultanate

Here are some more maps of my own campaign world.

These are of Narrazan which is part of the super-continent connected to Elloran. This shows the great capitol of the sultanate L'shia and surrounding Shahs (provinces).

This depicts the lands of the first campaign I ran as a DM. In my mind it didn't start out as an Arabian-like culture, but over time and logically it developed into that.

When Al-Qadim came out some years later for 2nd ed' it was just fantastic for these lands, as suddenly there was so much more info' and tools to add depth to an Arabian like culture.

  • Blast form the past - TSR's Homlet

    Hi Pkfrye,

These look excellent far better than mine, as I too have been working on maps for Homlet. I really like your village map with the castle, as I am really struggling to reproduce this in the map style I chose. Well done.

This weekend I just finished the welcome wench, although looking at your map of the tavern I'm going to have to change the scale of the pillars in my tavern as yours look so much better.

This was the first RPG adventure I ever played way back in 1983, so it will always have a special place in my RPG life. BTW we had a TPK against Lareth and his boys, didn't even make level 2.
