Troy Montana, semi-final version
Hi Calibre,
My uncle was a very accomplished artist and he once gave me this pearl of wisdom.
A painting isn't what you decide to put in it, it's what you decide to leave out.
There comes a time when you just stop adding paint and it's done. I wouldn't add anymore to your map it looks outstanding.
Are you playing Cthulhu with this map?

WIP: New Dungeon Commission
Hi Jim,
Your map is looking awesome.
Sometimes I use the RGB matrix Jim, but more often I create a mask, and I do it like this:
Create a new sheet above the area to colour - usually above the floor sheet. Call it whatever you like.
Add sheet effect - Transparency - to the new sheet.
Draw a new floor/cave area on the new sheet that covers the area you want to colour, then use the change properties tool to change that new floor/cave to the colour you want.
Edit the Transparency effect to the Opacity you want.
Here's one I'm working on atm. It's the Shrine of the Kuo-toa, from the classic 1st ed module. This is without effects on.
This is with effects on.
This is the area with the sheets showing. I've just covered the normal flagstone flooring with a green mask. I called it Serpentine floor.
now with the effect on
This is at 50% Opacity
I'm sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs Jim, but if you haven't thought of doing this, I hope it helps.

Classic Medieval D&D Map
Hi Cal and thanks,
No, all the map is done in Mike Schley style, including the islands. This map is a trace from a larger map I drew. To do the islands I blew the trace up really large and tried to make the coast of the islands more intricate than was on the original map. I also added the Bevel effect to the land sheet.
