Make sure your placing your text on the text sheet and that the text sheet is lower (towards bottom) in the sheets list than the symbols sheet. Also make sure you haven't placed the symbols on the text sheet somehow. Make sure the text sheet is selected (checkmark) and hide all the other sheets and this will show you what is on the text sheet. You can repeat for other sheets to verify what is on the sheet.

The sheets are drawn from the top of the list to the bottom of the list. So anything above the text sheet list is drawn first and will be below the text. Anything after the text sheet is drawn on top of the text sheet.

I also found this blank one you can use to create your own. From a free download site.

I looked and could not find any quickly but if you find a jpg or png image you could follow @EukalyptusNow tutorial (link below) and create your own. It doesn't really take that long to do.

I just made a change to the finished map. Added my signature icon to the map. New map posted in gallery. Here is now the finished map.

@Ricko Hasche - Thank You for the suggestion I changed the water contours like you suggested and increased the edge fade.

@DaltonSpence - The Island is on a lake so minimal tides if any. The tree line just represents where the trees start to grow beyond the shore line. But thanks for the suggestions. As far as the cave idea goes I'm sure that what ever adventures visit the island they may find a cave if the venture into the shoreline area and if not maybe they will find the secrets of the Temple or the haunted forest.
