What I do is import the Cosmographer export of ft3 into cc3plus.

Hide all but the hexagon grid, delete it. Go to the Draw menu, and add a new hexagon grid. You can decide the size of the hexagons in that menu selection.

I also save a catalog of symbols for particular nation and a city or village.

When I get a village to look the way I want to for that nation, I go into the Symbol Manager and save those symbols as a set. Next time I draw up a village for that nation, I already have a symbol set for it. Load it and use that one, instead of browsing around my hard drive.

I would check the sheet thevdirt is on for fade types of effects. Made it more opaque or unchecked it and see if the dirt reappears. If it does, change up the effects on that sheet

Also try opening a different map by clicking on that map's fcw file, not Open in C3+. There might be some corruption in the map that is currently in CC3+. The software loads the last map edited.
