I haven't tested going directly from CD to Up3... it would be an interesting test.

Come think about it.. I did experience unusual lag (compared to running natively on Windows) while opening a very large map. My best guess would be that wine still has some shortcomings while drawing on screen.

Oh, I'm using Fedora, which has a fame for being bleeding-edge. I don't think it would make much of a difference though. And do note that the results I posted in the link on my previous post is for version 7.12. I wouldn't worry too much about versions tbh.

I revisited this and everything keeps suggesting it's just due to differences in CC2 and CC3 file formats... and it's possible there's no solution (if I wish to keep opening the edited maps in FRIA; note that CC3+ has no problems).

Anyway, I didn't include screenshots from the listings in my original post, so I opened an original FRIA map and LIST'ed the entity with a Symbol Fill style..

As soon as I save it in CC3+, as a CC3 map, I get this from FRIA:

Same FS number, but it's now identified as "Hollow". Weird, right?

The only truly different thing I tried this time, just to rule things out, was adding an extra "Hollow" entity. FRIA reports as:

There's several maps that would benefit from minor fixes and edits, so I kinda keep hoping there's a way around this. Or maybe I should just browse the FR maps with CC3+.

That's surely a wishlist item for CC4, right? :)

Being able to load/save presets would be nice.

I do remember the movie, from back when it came out I guess (don't go looking for the release date, please).

Huh. Hadn’t even bothered to ask myself that, but I think the current bundle doesn’t include these.

I don’t think I’ve seen them in any of the annuals or addons. And apparently I didn’t pledge on the highest tier for the Cartographer’s Vault Bundle.

The current bundle has almost everything included. Notably missing are the last two annuals, but little else.

I use Scribus for this.

Following your requirements, I'd export a raster image with the 8x10 area to the edge. Then set up a page in Scribus for a 8.5x11 sized page. Insert an image frame sized 8x10 and center it. Import the image to the frame and make sure the image is scaled to the frame. Then I export to PDF.
