    Well, I tried multiple contours and whatnot and I couldn't get them looking like the picture in my head. In the end, I deleted all but one changed, its colour to a light grey and watched @Ralf's, Live Mapping - Ryecroft Town video for how he did the hill and finally got something I think looks good. Added a transparency effect, then spent a bit of time trying to draw stairs and decided, to hell with it, I'll use the regular stairs from SS4. Labelled it, put the obligatory creepy message in and viola, it is done!

    Thanks again for your support and encouragement folks!

    PS: I might make the compass rose smaller, and put it in the top left corner. It looks a little large...

  • Commission WIP!

    OK. So I've re-titled this post to be more appropriate.

    I've re-done the cliff, much happier with this version, and started laying in some buildings on the main roads - adjustments need to be made. I adjusted the size of these to be a bit larger than the default size when using the street tool - these are for the more affluent residents. The rich residents will mainly be on the cliff in walled, large villas. The 'poor' buildings will likely be done using the block tool

    I did a test print at 300ppi and it looks pretty good - I'll use that to plan out the rest as I read through the city descriptions.

    If I were charging more, I'd probably get rid of the shadow on the cliff and shade it properly in Affinity photo...

  • Scaling Bitmap Fills

    Changed the fill style for the crenellations to be the same as the base wall. Copied them to new sheets directly below and above. The below sheet was coloured solid red with no sheet effects; the sheet above very light grey with an Overlay blend mode at 25% to lighten them a tad.

    The jury is out on whether I'll bother with the floor fill styles, it looks OK and at print size most of the detail will be lost anyhow...

    Still to add the remaining walls, primary residence and outbuildings as ruins. Then I've got a complicated city map to do by the end of next week! Thanks heavens there's not a lot on TV! Though the weekend is pretty full with family and other stuff...

  • Book of Quests: The Chaos Mother's Chalice maps.

    Hi Folks,

    I'm running this adventure in/on Roll20. As such, I've copied a couple of maps in CC3.

    Here are the first 2, next will be 2 floors of dungeon, the other maps I'm just using screen shots from the adventure as they're not likely to be encounter maps.

    And a battlemap size of the villa;

  • Kobold Warren

    Hi Folks,

    Inspired by this weeks Live Mapping session I'm working on a kobold warren...

    Still got a lot to fill in but the base map is more or less done, its now just a matter of making it a bit more interesting...

  • WIP Commission, Ancient Tombs

    Hi Folks,

    Here is a bit of an update. To do: A little more furniture required in a couple of rooms; shaft still needs to be redone; dashed lines for the cells (9) under room 8 need to be drawn; the mask applied, room keys re-positioned and some sort of key added.

  • Community Atlas Project - Download information - Contributions Welcome

    Can I just say, the atlas is bloody great. Setting my groups game in Nibirum and play testing the Temple of Ankun-za adventure tonight and it was good fun. A bit rusty, running a game on Roll20 with the tokens and stuff (which our group prefers over theatre of the mind - FWIW, playing a D100 RPG, not D&D or clone). Makes it very easy, though as a suggestion, having a download of each map as a 70ppi JPEG as well as the Hi-res PNG version would be extremely helpful in situations where you need a map unexpectedly.

    Come on mappers, let's get mapping and fill that sucker up!

  • WIP: New Dungeon Commission

    @JulianDracos It certainly does! Without, it would be very monotonous.

    @Ricko Hasche Coming from you, that is high praise indeed! Thank you.

    Another little update for this one, nearing completion - just a couple of little errors to fix where I missed some 'ragged' walls and I'm calling this one finished - 3 more to go. Thankfully, they're not quite as intricate as this one.

    For the room numbering I used the cartouches from CA25 Fantasy Cities, I think these are easier to read than just numbers with a glow on this map.

    You will love it. It is a beautiful country when its not on fire or in flood...it is very much a land of extremes despite being mostly temperate in climate.

    @Monsen just for you.

  • Community Atlas - Blackrock WIP

    Hi All,

    Finally making progress on this map. And I figured out waht the issue was with the cliff lines showing through, my grass cover was too low in the sheet order!

    I reckon it's about done, perhaps just add a scale bar.

    Is there anyway to edit the Index to remove the grid references or will that stuff up the hyperlink?
