  • Live Mapping: Ice Caves

I've been struggling with ice caves for about a year now, so there was some really good tips in that video that would have saved me many hours of messing about. To be honest, I kind of have a love hate relationship with the Lighted Bevel effect. It almost does what I want it to but doesn't quite get there. I can't wait to try DELAYDRAWSYM.

In the end I used the Dungeons Of Schley. I decided that as long as it looks cold, that's that main thing.

  • Ideas for future Annuals

Is there an annual that allows you to map out an old graveyard? If so, point me to it, if not, put it on my wish list!

A selection of grave markers - Old church graveyard to boot hill styles to desert style stone mounds

freshly dug graves, freshy robbed grave, body/skeleton bits

A selection of crypts, statues, steps going down

Gravel paths, paved paths, worn paths, skull paths

Stone walls, skull walls, Fences, Hedges, Metal Railings, big gates,

Big tufts of grass, Ivy that can be draped over everything, creepy hangman's tree with rope and old lantern, long shadows

    you get the idea

  • What Are Everyone's RPG Connections?

As with many others, I started with the D&D Basic Red Box with the Larry Elmore cover. I later played AD&D 2nd Edition. Eventually I ditched D&D altogether (though I played 5ed at a local con) and moved on to other games like Warhammer, Earthdawn and Shadowrun.

Lately I've been playing Shadow of the Demon Lord, Zweihander and Dragon Age.

Roleplaying games eventually led to writing after I was challenged to write a book and after years of writing I started using Campaign Cartographer as additional value for some of my writing gigs and half-assed attempts at self publishing.

  • Ruins

Are their any walls that come pre-ruined? I've had CC3+ for almost 2 years now, and some of my dungeon maps and battle maps are great, but sometimes, a little too pretty. I can make a wall look semi-ruined with lots of rock and plant growth, but that takes a long time and involves lots of sheets.

Do any of the annuals have ruined walls or is it possible to do something with existing wall drawing tools to make a wall look like it hasn't just been built?

  • WIP Novaregna

The map looks great. I do most of my maps in the Herwin Vielink style, but they sometimes suffer from the lack of symbols and its a challenge to make them look different within the style. Its a shame there isn't more symbols. The one thing I'm not so fussed about in this style are the foothills. I think they look more like spoil heaps from a mine, which is what I normally use them for.

  • WIP - Floor 34 - Shadowrun map

Nice map! Looks like there could soon be case of blood in the boardroom

What edition of Shadowrun are you playing?

  • Ideas for future Annuals

Yeah, tents would be a great idea. Many of the RPGs I run have tent city outside of a main city or have the need of a military encampment.
