Cyberpunk: Proof of Concept
This is definitely something that interests me, particularly as there's not a lot done with cyberpunk on things like Roll20 and I think mappers here could make a bit of money if they were inclined.
There's a pretty good amount of stuff for people that want to use them privately, as for instance found here: https://2minutetabletop.com/cyberpunk-city-map-assets/. I do wonder if its possible, or it even makes sense, for profantasy to team up with someone like this artist to produce a style folks could use.
In case anyone's wondering, the assets created by this artist is under a Creative Commons License, which means they can be used with CC3+ as long as you don't try to make money with the maps you create. The sole exception is for maps included in large adventures, at the rate of 1 map per 2000 words.
Anyway, just adding my two cents. I have no idea how such an annual style would actually do.

Desert map for a commission
You know on a side note, I got interested in water deep underground when I was planning something for my group (and also thinking about the thing I did in the recent competition). Something I was thinking about was a whole campaign world underground, which I don't think has really been done in any substantial way, though there are interesting underground things semi-developed. So obviously, at least if its the standard races often seen in fantasy, you'd need water, so I looked into how large amounts of water could get underground. It was fascinating to learn that there is probably more water underground than there is in the oceans, and that much of the water has tiny pieces of diamond (and other minerals) in it.
By the way, I'm not talking about something like Hollow World (which is actually one of my favourite settings), but a true subterranean campaign world.
Anyway, thought it was interesting enough to share.

[WIP] Atlas Competition Entry - Coils of the Cold Coroner
So it looks like Monsen was right. The opacity was set to 80%, and changing it to 100% alleviated the problem. I feel a little silly not realizing that, but I guess a lot of things are obvious once you know them. Thanks!
Regarding Wyvern's comment, I had the same thought that it I liked it as kind of a ghostly image that you might not see. I guess I was a little worried people would think it sloppy. Well, I suppose I have a few hours to decide.

Contoursm not working for me anymore
Hey folks, I wondered if there had been a change with how the contoursm command works? I've looked through the forum and blogs and can't seem to find anything.
For reference, I usually make a black and white export from Fractal Terrains and then insert it onto a trace sheet I make. Then I use the instructions at https://rpgmaps.profantasy.com/leveraging-the-new-features-of-cc3-update-16/ . This has always worked for me in the past. To check if there was something wrong in the image, I used an image I had used before in this way, and although it seems to do something, I can't see any coastlines.
Thanks.

October Community Challenge - City Streets - VOTING POLL in first post
I'm sorry I wasn't able to finish my map for the deadline. I hope to finish it in the next day or two so it can be added to the atlas. I've been pretty distracted lately.
I do want to say that all of the maps I've seen are quite beautiful, as well as appropriate to the task. I did submit a vote, but I'll never tell...

Popping in to say hi after illness
Hey folks, been pretty sick for the last little while (pretty much since my last post). Threw up so much my landlord had to get a plumber. Starting to feel a little better, and back to work in the morning.
I hope you've all been well and enjoyed whatever you might do this time of year (ie. holidays, etc). Sad I missed the discounts on the new isometric cities and annual, but looking forward to checking them out once I sort out finances.
Take care,
Autumn

Looking for Advice with FT3+
I've actually been experimenting with the Remap Altitudes command on a world I generated for the purpose and I'm pretty happy with how its performing. I generally feel that FT creates too many high altitude areas and to bring these all down using the usual method takes a long time and feels tedious to me. Generally what I'm doing is looking at a landmass, deciding where I want elevation to be, and then creating a series of selections where I use the tool at the 1.1 setting. The first use will remap the altitudes in the selection at a lower altitude. I'll repeat this on the same selection to bring it down to sea level. When I see sea appearing I'll hit the undo to keep everything above sea level. Then I'll move on to another area and do the same. Typically I'll end up doing 3 - 5 in the same area. Once all of that is finished, I'll create another selection that covers all of the former selections and do a global smooth between 3 and 10, depending on what's needed, to get rid of the unnatural looking edges of the selection. In general, I will use a combination of this technique and time-honored lower land clicking to get things where I want them. The two pictures above show the unsculpted version and the working version I have right now, to give yu a sense of the results.
Regarding the coral, you probably could do it using very small brushes but the problem is that at the finest levels of detail the inevitable post-sculpting operations often undue some of your work. You can (and I have) choose not to do those operations, of course. I remember when I first used FT3 I spent a lot of time sculpting small areas and really enjoyed it.
On a side note, I often feel that you only really get a couple of land masses that you really like the look of. I have considered for a while having a kind of composite world made up of continents from different worlds. There's nothing that says everything has to come from the same fractal world. I have yet to experiment with this, however.
