  • Why is the default Fenlon scale so different to the original maps?

i've figured out the outline issue. it was the fill style.

on the symbols showing as an outline, the fill stlye was 600 (solid), for some reason. on the other symbols it was 1 (solid).

i just had to replace 600 (solid) with 1 (solid)

  • Why is the default Fenlon scale so different to the original maps?

hi this prompted me to print of thumbnails of my catalogs of fenlon symbols.

though for some reason i've not investigated. some have just come out as outlines, instead of what the symbol really looks like.

    but hopefully it's still interesting.

there also seem to be some node issues, i've never noticed

hi, everything is done in CC3plus to produce the finished map.

I dont use the Annual Fenlon style for these maps. I use my own version, which i started making before that was released. though i did borrow some elements, so they could be used with each other. like the background and colour palette. This is still being developed and tweaked with each new map i start.

You are getting red Xs because you are missing bitmaps from certain locations. ive coppied the necessary images into my gallery.

Copy PF_B_Mountain directly into the folder below.

    "C:\ProgramData\Profantasy\CC3Plus\Filters\Images\PF_B_Mountain.jpg"

For the bitmaps you need to create a new directory in the location below called Pete Fenlon B. then copy all the bitmaps into this folder

    "C:\ProgramData\Profantasy\CC3Plus\Bitmaps\Tiles\Overland\Pete Fenlon B"

Your red Xs should then disappear when you load the FCW file

i've been finishing off the sw corner of middle-earth, which has led to more tweaking of the sheet effects for the map.

the latests tweaks have been applied the se map, which gives this result.

just for a interesting comparison, below is the original map; which was converted to the map style above.

    funny story.

it was going to be a map of the mirror of fire. basically blank with mirror of fire written in the centre.

but i thought i really need to define how big an area it covers.

so i started putting together the rough map above.

thats when i realised i wasn't happy with how the harshandatt maps where fitting together. with each other and the region as a whole. so i decided i needed something more definitive.

6 months or so later, mirror of fire map had turned into harshandatt map

i read somewhere that the Red Hundred was another term used for the villages in that area. Also it's on the TA3018 map from the ICE shire module for that area. Found that reference whilst i was trying to remember where i had found the name

has anyone tried creating maps using AI? I've just had a quick dabble, asking for a map of Umbar.

these are the results i got.
