  • Live Mapping: Villages of Schley *CANCELLED*

    Early Request: @Ralf and @Loopysue

I have had trouble getting water, including lakes, shores, and river mouths, to fit in well with this style. I've resorted to lots of manual tweaking. Would you please take some time to show easy, out-of-the-box ways to make them look good with this set?

(I came from a place that has lots of rivers, so they're in my mind.)

    Thanks!

    I want to try this!

    Loopysue: 30 minute shout :)

That worked. I never noticed that on the left. Thanks!

  • Post-processing Map to Age It

    Here's what I started with:

The following output is completely from CC3. I cropped it to just the section that I needed, then I added a crumpled paper on a new sheet, added transparency, and then did a custom RGB matrix for the entire thing. It's not 100% sepia, but more like halfway. I saved the matrix so I won't have to remember anything. It fits my needs right now.

Thanks all for the ideas and support!

  • Macro square root calculation

OK, I was imagining the Heron formula for calculating the area of a triangle. Your idea makes more sense!

I'm not sure it would help much, but I did something similar in XP. It's not the same thing, but perhaps a similar kind of problem. The distance formula isn't used, I think, but it could be done very easily in C.

Beautiful, Ralf. Do you have any advice on internationalization of a map? It would be nice to hit a button and change the language used, as in a string table in some software.

  • [WIP] Spectrum Overland Waterfalls x 2

I think the first one is excellent. They're both good, but the first one made me look again a few times. The waterfalls look great.

  • CC3+ and CPUs

Turbo speed can be automatic or manual depending on the motherboard and drivers.

  • CC3+ and CPUs

Monsen is completely right. CC doesn't use any of the fancy differences between the two. I'd like to point out that the 7600 is 0.2GHz faster. The clock speed is probably the only difference between the two relating to CC3+. That probably won't be a noticeable difference. The 7600 might be faster by 4.4% at most. It's almost backward: the cheaper processor would run CC3+ better.

  • Encounter map - Where does that cave entrance go?

This is great! This map is so good that it makes me question the scenario, not the artistry. For instance, are there tracks around here? What about old fire pits? I can believe this is a real place. Great job.

  • WINE installer error -any ideas?

Hello. Did you install the Visual C runtime? I seem to recall having to do that.
