  • Your favourite settings? (worlds)

The timing was bad, I'll agree. One can't deny Loraine Williams' motives either. However, on its own and apart from other TSR properties, it was good. It was unique. I saw it at a hobby shop and thought it was the first pulp sci-fi setting for a system that I knew well. It had adventures, modules, maps, novels, and video games. It got a lot of bad feelings, I think, because it was different. It was not for fantasy people, and it wasn't for cyberpunk people. It was what Conan was to Middle Earth: gritty. If you strip away the business side and the large leap from Forgotten Realms, I think it's a great pulp sci-fi setting on its own.

  • Room for improvement?

These look great! I think they will work out well. I love when authors have maps (and pronunciation guides) in books.

One piece of advice: consult whoever is doing the printing. To me, it never hurts. I'd never be able to do it myself.

That's great! Who designed the style?

  • Tell me all about your DnD campaigns!

@Royal Scribe, have you considered running something online? For example Roll20 or PlayByWeb (shameless plug). I've used both, and they can be good outlets for this kind of creativity. My Roll20 games that haven't been pre-made have mostly used my sci-fi maps. It's gone well overall.

  • Replacing MS Sans Serif(8)

I'm no expert on fonts, so take this with a grain of salt. It might be possible to rename the font that you have to be the font that you want. Here's a page that describes the process. I don't know about the legality.

  • Game Masters: Preferences for Labeling on Game Maps

@Monsen I was going to type something here, but you said 100% exactly what I do.

I'll add that many commercial modules have 2 maps: 1 with labels and 1 without. One is for the DM and one is for a handout. You might also consider "fog of war." How do you handle what the characters cannot see yet? I have covered the maps with blank paper to hide what's around the corner, and I've also tried printing each small area on different papers so I can tile them together when the party can see an alley, etc.

BTW, Dioramas 3 comes in handy here!

  • Smokey Hollow, PA

OK, first off: This is excellent. I was immediately intrigued. That's a big part of any map: "Why should I keep looking?" You answered that one!

So, I have to ask this: Which part of PA? The inhabitants of each of the two halves would probably behave very differently in such a setup. It's a fun situation.

    Great work!

  • WIP - Wayward Village and Inn

    This is excellent!

What's up with the person in the house at the bottom center? I don't trust them. They're up to no good, and they need to be vanquished.

This map makes me want to play. There's an adventure there, for sure.

  • Interesting Political Take on the Mercator Projection

Hahahah! They're not prepared for the Coastline Paradox.

I think this is an AU situation, but they're hinting at it for the world. I think my old elementary school still has the same maps from the 1950s, so good luck with that.
