NAN,NAN Problem
I'm having problem with putting anything on my map. All I get is NAN,NAN. I can mouse across the map area but as soon as I approach with a symbol or wall the pointer snaps to the lowest left corner.
How can I sort this out? I'm loath to just making another map with the same name because it’s the lower level in Cosm and I've had huge problems with snaps on single levels, ironicaly, as well as multiple layers crashing in Cosm without anything on either level. I also don’t know how to hperlink files.

Here is a fixed version of the file. I've set it up with a 50' grid with 5 snaps.
Here's the exact steps to set up a reasonable grid:
- Right click the Snap button in the lower left.
- Hit the New button in the dialog to define a new grid
- Select 2d Rectangular as the grid type and hit continue
- You can name the new setting whatever you want, but it is best that it follows the actual settings, so I named mine "50, 5 snap". I then set the snap divisions to 5, and the X and Y spacing both to 50. What this ends up doing is making a snap grid that has a visible dot every 50 map units (feet), but it snaps every 10 feet. If you feel the the snaps are too fine grained, try setting the snap divisions to 2 instead, and if you have too few snap points, try with 10 for snap divisions.
- Click ok, and then back in the select grid system dialog, scroll down and click on your newly created grid to select it, and then hit ok. This will make your new grid the active one. Save the map.

thanks Remy,, I did follow your instructions for setting up Deck 1's grid but I'm sure Deckplans hates me using anything other than the template which doesn’t ask about multiple decks.

NAN usually means "Not A Number" and is a proper term for input that isn't a number when a number was expected as the input.
What command are you trying to use?
This usually indicates that the map is corrupted in some way.
Try the View menu -> Zooms -> To all Text. Pick one of the entries in the dialog. This will result in the map being zoomed close into that piece of text. Now try to zoom back out using Zoom Out. Save the map, then close and restart CC3+. Hopefully that takes care of things.
Edit: Snaky mice afoot today...

I'm either drawing the external shape of a space ship or placing symbols.
it still goes to 0,0
The 0,0 issue may be caused by the snap grid as before though. Did it get rid of the NaN, Nan display?
No it hasn't. Deckplans are doing my head in. the snap grid kind of works, I went for the Standard Rectangle grid in this version and due to other pressures I'm stopping work on the ship at the end of my computer day today.
Can you upload the problematic map? I can hopefully fix it quickly.
how do I add 3 files (the _blank.fcw as well as the Deck and Subdeck files)? I'd have to send them separately unless your end copes with zip files.
Zip files are fine, but I only need the one problematic file. You should also be able to simply add multiple files to a post one by one.
I'm not bothering with _blank. I somehow tricked Deck 1 to let me put things on it but don’t know how. The actual snaps are slightly iffy on Deck, they don’t grab properly and I'm guessing it’s the same with Subdeck.
Thanks a lot. :)
Could you tell me how you fixed it please?

@HelenAA You'll probably want to grab the updated Cosmographer templates Ralf posted. Won't do anything to existing maps, but new ones from them shouldn't have this problem.
thanks Remy. Have downloaded them and when I return to mapping I'll install them.
