Some effects not working

I've been working on my challenge map, and I'm ALMOST DONE. But I've hit a small snag. I just added my compass rose, on it's own sheet and layer, and a title on it's own sheet. The problem is that neither my compass, nor my title is showing ANY of the effects I put on the corresponding sheets. And I can't figure out why. I'm hoping someone can take a look at my fcw, and tell me what I'm missing, because I think I'm too close, and it's proably something simple and stupid...lol

The compass rose is on the SYMBOLS sheet, and the text on the TEXT sheet, neither which have any effects at all defined.
  • grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... I knew it was something simple and stupid!!! Thanks Remy

    Isn't that always the way?

Stay calm, Storm. There are still 3 days to go :)

The Win 10 update has killed my GIMP entry by messing with my tablet drivers and behaving in a disagreeable fashion with GIMP itself, but you're still going strong without any really major issues ;)

I had to uninstall Windows Update KB4041676 so my computer would work again.

I rely on Windows Defender, which was updated as part of that update, so I can't roll back :(

Rolling back only delays the inevitable, Jim. If you don't update, eventually your OS becomes as defenceless as a wet paper bag - thanks to all the wierdos out there who have nothing better to do with their intellect than write new viruses to spoil everyone else's day!

I have a much better anti-virus/trojan program than I used to use. I'm getting Windows 7 soon and putting it on my old Vista machine. 1Tb hard drive, and lots of ram with a good video card. Faster CPU than the computer I'm currently using. Then I'll just use this Win 10 computer for a dart board or something similar.

Believe me, this has cost me a challenge entry in which I had already invested at least 100 hours work, so I feel like using mine as a dart board as well right now.

  • I know the challenge ends in 3 days, but I don't have three days to finish. I have until today, noon, to finish my entry. You see, I have 4 birthdays that I'm making gifts for (not including my own which is next week), that aren't finished yet. Plus I have two halloween costumes I have to finish by Tuesday, and we have a party we are attending today at 1pm, one at 3pm tomorrow and one at 6pm on Monday. SOME HOW I have to get all of these gifts completed and wrapped before each of the parties. Luckily I am almost done with all of them, but still.

So no, I am out of time on this map, because I won't be able to do much of anything until AFTER next Saturday...

You realize that ProFantasy products don't run on a Mac natively, right? You'll need to run them under a virtual or emulated Windows environment, which then adds the extra fun of possible issues with the virtual/emulation software, too.

    Just sayin'.

I think tussling with a piece of emulation software would be more fun than an entire operating system.

My machine is slow, and its getting worse.

Even CC3 is unstable. I've been trying to forget my sorrows and make a CC3 map this afternoon, but I'm having intermittent problems with it suddenly failing to respond now and then.

    the whole system is unstable.

Facing this, I might have to roll back, and try to find the money for a separate antivirus app.
