Sigh. I was looking at my spreadsheet and noticed no link for an entire sub-sector, then another... about 10 or so planets, no sub-sector maps... argh. Trying to get that fixed today.

    Less haste, more speed :)

    You'll get there :)
  • JimPJimP 🖼 280 images Departed Legend - Rest in Peace
I did fix it. I thought I had uploaded all 20 planets, 4 sub-sectors, etc. but i hadn't. All taken care of now.

Brings my total to 1299 planets and their profiles.

Finishing up the star cluster should increase that by about another 250 to 300.

71 maps left to go, place, etc. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just have to make sure it isn't a train.

Of course, it will likely take me several day to crate all of the articles and links on my site.

Just out of curiosity, what have you got planned for when you finish this project?
  • JimPJimP 🖼 280 images Departed Legend - Rest in Peace
A nap. After that, I might go hiking. Then work on some Atlas maps, and one of my less well known rpg game sites.

Gosh. 54 left to go, ooops, 64 left to go. Found a sub-sector unmapped, and I had crossed it off as done.

Taking a break from mapping for a day, maybe two.
  • LoopysueLoopysue ProFantasy 🖼 41 images Cartographer
    You've done so much!

Time for a rest - and maybe that hike you were thinking of could be used as a break instead of an 'afterwards'?
  • JimPJimP 🖼 280 images Departed Legend - Rest in Peace
Yeah. Its low humidityhere. One bit of my skin surgery not healed completely. So I'm a bit leery of hiking. But not Joe Leery. Tim's unknown cousin. :')
  • LoopysueLoopysue ProFantasy 🖼 41 images Cartographer
    Are you still recovering?

Maybe not the hike then ;)

Just relax for a few days :)

I went out to my shed. No wasps, hurrah ! Sat there for about an hour listening to my HF ham radio. Then walked the approximate 100 feet back to the door of the house, a slight incline of about 12 feet of rise. The rise is gradual enough it doesn't seem like much as it goes from the west end of the house, the path, to the east side of the house. And I was winded. Well, it could have been the heat. On antibiotics again due to my ear not healing properly.
  • LoopysueLoopysue ProFantasy 🖼 41 images Cartographer
Definitely not the hike just yet, then!
  • JimPJimP 🖼 280 images Departed Legend - Rest in Peace
    Nope, not yet.

And the extra ten planets was a spreadsheet hiccup. I lost power about 2 weeks ago with the spreadsheet open. When I got power back the spreadsheet said 'click here to fix corrupted file' when i tried to open it. Apparently planet names got moved into the Star cluster's part as my other spreadsheet, which wasn't open at the time, showed them being in other sub-sectors. So i actually only have 54 left to map.

The big clue was the lack of planets for that level in the big colored map showing levels by color dots in this thread.

It sounds like you could do with one of those surge protectors - one that charges up and keeps everything running for a few minutes while you have a chance to close everything down. Expensive, but worth it if you stand to lose so much if there is a power cut.
  • JimPJimP 🖼 280 images Departed Legend - Rest in Peace
I have an uninterruptable power supply, but my computer on that power flicker was only plugged into the surge part. I usually plug monitor and computer into the surge and battery part of the ups.
  • JimPJimP 🖼 280 images Departed Legend - Rest in Peace
    30 planets left to go.
  • JimPJimP 🖼 280 images Departed Legend - Rest in Peace
time for another break... two sub-sectors left, total 14 planets. 4 in one, 10 in the other.

    Those are in level 3.

All other levels; 1, 2, 4, 5 ,6 , and 7; are done. Uploading, typing articles, for over 100 planets on my site, not done.
  • LoopysueLoopysue ProFantasy 🖼 41 images Cartographer
I would love to know where you find your energy!

If you could bottle that and sell it you would be a millionaire!
  • JimPJimP 🖼 280 images Departed Legend - Rest in Peace
Rest. Doing something else. When I start making mistakes like forgetting which planet name I was going to use with which map, I save everything and do something else. It helps.
  • JimPJimP 🖼 280 images Departed Legend - Rest in Peace
All Breloss Star Cluster maps are done, unless I made some mistakes...

Anyway, I am going to rest tonight and work on my storage shed on Thursday. It does get hot out there, so likely I'll be back in the house later in the day.

Now, all these particular planets are done, we just have to get the in the right order. ( Shades of Monty Python. Only they were talking about composing a symphony.)

Shouldn't that be shades of Eric Morecambe, regarding conductor André Previn's criticism of Eric's attempt at playing Grieg's piano concerto, "You're playing all the wrong notes"? Eric's reply was, "I'm playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order."

I would provide a YouTube link for this, but being in Britain, and because the original was broadcast on BBC TV here, the BBC has kindly blocked my access to ALL of these. They still have a short clip of it on their own website, but I don't think they allow people from outside Britain to access that. Just ask Google "all the right notes" instead.

    Regardless, good luck Jim!

Articles created for one sub-sector on level 4 done. Which leaves, hhhmmm... I know I used over 100 FT3 planets exported with the Cosmographer Traveller template.

My site's total storage went from 2.71 gigs, to 2.81 gigs of storage. So I have uploaded about 100 kilobytes of planet maps. Probably, about, near, 150 planets.

Not going to post all updates I do to my web site...

so here is my What is New ? page.

Only one sub-sector left to psot for level 03, then I can start on level 3. Over 100 articles to go. I need a break as I started making mistakes on the second sub-sector I posted this morning.
  • JimPJimP 🖼 280 images Departed Legend - Rest in Peace
I really need to make better offline notes for myself, or something. I'm not sure what.

I have three different totals for this cluster; 618, 648, I removed 11 planets for 638.

Just counted them up; done ones, and ones left to post articles for. This number is based on my spreadsheet. I get 633 total.

So, it will still be over 1,600 planets for the site. Exact number is well up in the air.
  • LoopysueLoopysue ProFantasy 🖼 41 images Cartographer
Make a checklist and have it pinned to the wall near your workstation, and actually check things off by ticking them as you do them :)
  • JimPJimP 🖼 280 images Departed Legend - Rest in Peace
    I have several. They disagree.

The UWP total, when I am done, will be the number I go with.
  • LoopysueLoopysue ProFantasy 🖼 41 images Cartographer
LOL! You need to keep it all on one list and only mention each item once! :P
  • JimPJimP 🖼 280 images Departed Legend - Rest in Peace
I hope this is more clear. I'm terrible at explaining things.

When I do a search on my site for 'UWP:" I get a number. When I count them in th original png of levels by color ( posted earleir in this thread) I get a number that when subtracted from the first number should tell me how many left to go.

I have looked over that png and my spreadsheet. As far as I can tell, they show the same locations.

But when I count what the spreadseet shows... its not exactly the same number as the png.

All spots with a location in my spreadsheet has a planet name there.

Adding and subtracting where necesary to compare totals with: I get 633 or 637 planets left to go.

When I get all of them done, according to my spreadsheet, I'll do another site search on the admin side, with 'UWP:' as the search item, and see what the total is.

Hopefully, that total will be either 633 or 637.

I found a mistake on my totals... the spreadsheet showed 17 planets in one sub-sector, but I counted only 13. So that makes up for the 'missing' 4 and both now match at 637.

    edit:

    1435 planets done.
  • JimPJimP 🖼 280 images Departed Legend - Rest in Peace
I got side tracked on other things... just 202 planets left to type up, etc.
