I don't understand what you are saying. Perhaps share the FCW?

I've actually not put the lights back in since preparing to scale up again.

I have to go out for a while soon, but perhaps try to put the lights in so I can see what's broken?Scaling up or down won't affect them in any way other than you might need to edit each light to give it a larger or smaller radius.

The sheet list is looking very complicated now, which probably doesn't help when you are trying to make things 'just so'. I notice that you have one called - POINT LIGHT SETUP candle, and another similarly named. The Setup effect doesn't need to be put on a separate sheet, if that is what this is. Its just a shadow effect that has to go on any sheet that has objects you want to cast a shadow in your lit world. Regular shadows don't work with the lighting, you see.

I'm not sure why you have two Point Light, Finalize effects in this list. You only need one Point Light, Finalize in a map to show where the lighting ends, and to set the colour of the shadows. Everything above the sheet with the Point Light, Finalize on it (in the sheet list) will be affected by the point lights you add to your map. Everything below it in the sheet list will appear as it would in an unlit map.

The Point Light, Setup effect is a shadow casting effect. The only difference between the Point Light, Setup and the Wall Shadow, Directional is that it responds to the point lights you add, rather than the global sun. So it should go on any shadow casting sheet, such as the SYMBOLS sheets - like other shadow effects.

The lights themselves can go on any sheet you like and do the same thing regardless. It's just tidier and easier to get to them if they are all on the same sheet and not mixed up with things that are not lights. That's why I tend to put mine on a sheet called LIGHTS, that has nothing else on it, and no sheet effects.

  • its because I’m a former website designer [long years ago], Sue. Things get turned on ( eg Bold) and then when you don’t need it at that location you turn it off. It also helped me to get to grips with the way you added / moved my sheets. I added the dash at the start of those four sheets was in lieu of indentation.

I’ve gone back some earlier versions and am fiddling with them. Don’t worry, I won’t shout at you if I muck those up! I genuinely appreciate your time and help.

The thing I was grappling with this a.m was the fact that despite drawing an unbroken wall (the yellow line) around the furniture, the bleed from the lights was still coming through.

I really need to see the FCW once you've had a go at setting up the lights. I can't see what the problem is without it. I really don't understand what you mean about the yellow wall thing. I can see there is a yellow wall, but I don't understand what you are asking for.

  • I think I’ve solved the problem but am going out in a few minutes.
