Hello from Shetland
A long time ago and in a town far, far away a younger me picked up some mapping software at wargames show. I messed around with CC2 for a bit but never really got going with it... jump forward a bit and I got into Role playing games and needed a way to make maps... up pops CC3 and away I go, made the maps, played the games and kind of forgot about it. Round about Christmas 22 I found my CC3 disk...sadly I didn't have a disk drive any more... Ralf to the rescue and I was able to upgrade to a downloadable version... I now have Cc3+ and the isometric cities pack.
I am the Head teacher of a tiny school and the kids and I have made our own imaginary island called Skeldorini. I made the map and now am making the towns of the island. Skeldor is coming along nicely.
So that is my journey to this point.
Cheers
Stephen

Hi Stephen! :)
Thanks for sharing your story with us. What an excellent idea to involve the children.
Welcome to the forums !
I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to see your map.
Thanks for the welcome everyone. I would be happy to show the map of Skeldorini. I have got it on the school blog as well as my own as PDF's so we can zoom in.
Not sure how to add it elsewhere...
Down at the bottom of each comment section, there is a small 'picture'. Click on that, and browse to the export of the drawing, jpg is best here. Click on bottom where it says Open.
It will then upload to here. There is a 2 megabyte limit. I think it is 2 megs.
Thanks Jim
You're welcome.
This is our island of Skeldorini and the following is the capital - Skeldor
Forgot to say, on the one I shared with the children I removed all the swirly waves from the island map. I did the first one on CC3 and the second on CC3+.
Great work! :)
I particularly like the new city map.
Thanks Loopysue ...On Thursday, there was a small earth tremor below Mount Colacola. the kids came to the press briefing then went away and wrote a press release. It would seem like Magma is entering the chamber below the volcano. :)
I just love it when teachers lead their pupils through an adventure. So much easier to learn things if you're having fun.
SHHHH Don't tell them but they have done so much writing in this topic..... :)
Awesome :D
