  • Map of a real region

    Hi everyone!

I'm almost done with a regional map of my region, redrawn from a google maps screenshot, with Erdan Worlds. Names of cities are quite accurate while names of areas are sort of funny names... Both in a macaronic latin.

Have a look and criticize it. I'll be happy to get as many suggestions as you like ;).

I also have a question: I drawn the heralsds copying the originals. I didn't manage to find a good way to proper integrate them in the map... I tried with RGB matrix, transparency, glows... But not a great result so far.

I guess that a proper RGP transformation that turns everything in to something paler and yellowish may work... but i didn't manage to et it.

    Suggestions?

  • Erdan Worlds metric. Problem with "things" size

    Hi all!

Sorry for bothering. I would like to report 2 possible problems with the Erdan Worlds style. I am not even sure if these can be called problems or if it just a matter of settings on my PC. Anyway...

The first is that when the streams or lake drawing tools are used, the drawing tools does not put the things in the "Rivers" sheet but it creates a new sheet caller "River" on top of everything (with no effects). I am not sure it this is desired or if it is limited to my PC.

The second regards the size of symbols. It looks to me that, the size of the symbols is, by default, too big. I am not sure if it is really an issue or if it is something related with the size of the map. Clicking "se to normal" the software scales it to a more correct scale.

I don't know if it is something that happens only to me, so please forgive me if this is the case.

BTW, I love this style! Thanks @Medio, it is a great style !!!

    Ale

  • CA style development - "Darklands City" (issues for September and December 2021)

Hi everyone and great work @Loopysue !

I am a bit in late with the discussion but if you are looking for inspiration about a desolated "post-something" ruined city I suggest the old game Mordheim. There should be a pc game which may provide some images. Also, some scenarios for the miniature game could he of help (here a random one). It is based in the Warhammer universe, so it should look like an German medieval city around the end of middle age (I guess, sorry if I am wrong). I really like the grim atmosphere of the game, where bands of adventures enter the ruined city (due to a meteorite fall) to get treasures.

Anyway, symbols so fare are wonderful! I can't wait to see it all finished.

  • New project. Historical city detail: Padova. WIP

    Thanks Sue!

You are right they are really difficult to read. Actually the blue was a conscious choice of mine... I tried the black and it looks much better (Also, I cheated and did, at least some of them, bigger... I guess Mr. Voltolina will not complain 😜).

I may also add a scalebar and a compass...

    Hi!

I Think I am done with the map. It is not super polished but I think it is ok.

It is, at least, quite faithful to the original (that is the reason of the super small text).

As always, suggestions and critiques are welcome. 😃
