Have you scrolled down in the Structures catalog? Thew new symbols might not be at the start of the list anymore.

Yes, the system template uses the same symbol catalog as the Traveller sector and subsector maps, so the behaviour of the gas giant is a bit odd there.

If you want to fix it, add the Gas Giant symbol to your map, but don't place it yet. Open the Symbol Manager nad "Edit" the gas giant symbol. "Move" the included bitmap, click the center of the image as the origin of the movement, then place it at 0,0. Close the editing window and save it. In this drawing the symbol should now get placed centered as the planet symbols.

Hi Nikode! That looks as if your selection method by be set to "Select by Layer" perhaps by an aborted macro. Please go to Tools > Options in the menu and under "Select Method" set it to "Select by Dialog or Popup". Does it work properly again, afterwards?

Just send in a support request, listing your new CC3+ serial number you got from Humble Bundle. Ideally, don't put it on your account, but if you have done already, that's no real problem either.

If you want to try out the newest version of CC3+, update 26 is now available from your registration page (click the CC3+ download button to access it). It does have some internal changes, displays certain dialogs and windows more nicely and contains a few new toys to play around with (version notes below). As a beta, there may well still be a few glitches and issues, so only install it if your comfortable with that.
