the map appears to be progressing nicely. though i need to adjust/change parts that i had considered final a week ago

following on from harshandatt this is the mirror of fire.

I'm in two minds about the central plateau/messa feature. should i make it smaller and/or move it more northwesterly. to make the island more isolated.

a bit of background. it's supposed to represent the remains of an ancient island. the mirror of fire being where a lake/inland sea used to be. both were destroyed by a great fire when the pillar of ormal collapsed. the lands to the southeast were formed as a result of earthquakes and floods from the same event. perhaps some of the land features are worn down remains of the pillar,

the NW files are defeating me at the moment. I can only produce a low res version. Any higher and cc3plus crashes.

So this is unfortunately the best quality i can do at the moment.

note that the the shape of the NW doesn't match, the original continent map. I've redrawn it, to match the shape shown on later b/w maps in ICE products.

i know what you are thinking. #@#!! this map is taking a long time, for a copy of an existing map. unfortunately i keep starting new maps, whilst not progressing this one.

this is with the textures rescaled.

i'll post one with the bevels removed, once it's rendered, to compare the differences

i've done some more reading, experimenting and thinking, but it hasn't helped me come to a conclusion about the size.

so im sticking with the map below for now

I've been using cc3+ with win 11 for just short of a week. So far no problems, touch wood.
