Decided to make two ruined towns in the broken lands part of Crestar's Flat continent.

First one had towers, no walls. Campers on the west side, probably looking for loot. Or maybe trying to rebuild. The well is ruined. Probably easier to tear down and start over.

Looks a bit newer, even an attempt to build walls. Looks like they were too late as there are just two ruined corners on the Northwest and west areas. Three partial buildings, must be newer. All is ruins. More campers ? Five ruined wells. Downed trees.

I have Epic Table, but my siblings won't give me a date for play. He hasn't done any updates in a year.

One of my siblings uses Fantasy Grounds, but I think it is expensive.

It kept switching between DD3 Color and Marine Dungeon. i decided to make MD01, and insert it into the Dungeon map. Worked, and much faster.

Before I started Crestar, I noticed the store players in my area would argue with the DM on what was in a published world, and what wasn't. So I decided to use my own.

I would expect that. While I haven't lived in either one, it seems to me that the tile wouldn't hold onto the snow as well as the thatched roof. I could be wrong though.

Here in the U.S. some locations have very slanted roofs because they get snow every winter. But other places may get snow only every 5 or so years. Those roofs aren't slanted much. Some places may get snow every 5 to 10 years. so they don't worry aobut it. They do get lots of rain, particularly in hurricane zones.
