Still working on my Traveller site. Nothing uploaded yet, but I have about 100 planet maps on 4 sectors. Just have to do the uwp for each, post articles, and do a few solar system maps.

  • What is Steampunk...

Probably oil lamps would still be in use. In the 1950s, my grandmother would always get the kerosene lamps out when it clouded up.

You can find excerpts of Howl's Moving Castle on YouTube. One I saw recently showed various conveyances, along with ships of various types for ocean and air.

  • some battle maps, 75' x 50'

Note that I'm doing this without eyeglasses as my regular ones aren't bifocals, and the screen is too far away for my readers.

All 49, 5' grid, maps, some I moved the symbols and fills around, are done.

I'm heading for lunch, but I'll work on getting them into zip files, 7 maps per file, with text on the article page, and in the zip, as I just numbered them. Easier to download, but I'll see how big more maps per zip will be...

I moved a 75' x 50' grid I made to a different layer... so the 49 maps without grid will be easier to do.

I have been thinking of making several zips of the same type of terrain. There are only 1 swamp, 2 water, and 2 sand pieces. So, I can see making more of those.

    Anyway, onward !

Catch ya later, and thanks for the help.

I've added several of them to my Gallery, under battle maps.

Update for 3a -03. I think this is it for this map.

    3a_03 text

20 ) 3 pits, some wood debris, and a banquet table. food has spoiled.

20 B ) a defensive area, that didn't work. Appears that diners at this banquet were surprised, but were able to defend themselves for a while.

21 ) a sandy floor and a marine dungeon. Water ripples around a wall out in the water. That should give a clue there is a shark out there. Some small fishes must keep it fed. But how vdoes it continue to live ? No, not a were-shark.

A small boat is there, but no oars, to take you out onto the water. There could be treasure, but it isn't visible from the shore. Watch out for the sea urchins if you hgo wading out into the water. And don't pet the shark !

22 ) a circle room. Debris blocks a smooth walk around the water. Can the shark in room 21 get over here ? A secret door leads to mold floored passageways and rooms.

23 ) A one time swimming pool. Appears to get 5' deep, just under 2 meters.

    But is it safe ?

24 ) in front of some castle walls with towers. Doors lead away from, into, this room.

24 B ) 3 giant ants, a scouting party looking for food. A ruined rock building. Two small skeletons in the building.

A skeleton behind a row of amphorae... not very good for defense. Doesn't look like they have been opened.

No entrances to the three towers. If ladders were used to get to the top of the wall, they are gone.

passageway leading to room 25. A skeleton under ceiling debris. The ceiling is smooth.

25 ) two broken tables. a pile of wood debris with a spike pole with hair, and a spike pole with a human skull on it. Three spike poles with hair on them, on the floor.

26 ) bat guano, 4 blue mushroom areas. One is glowing, probably shouldn't touch that. Wood pile.

27 ) three blue mushrooms, one is glowing. Bat guano, 4 areas of white mushrooms... deadly nightshade ?

Three amphorae, 2 chests. Probably have treasure.

28 ) Two tables with chairs. Three comfy chairs. Why aren't they damaged ?

29 ) Two tables, the chairs are to big to fit into the U-shaped area.

30 ) Looks like a lecture room. One comfy chair, 6 blue less-comfortable chairs.

The passageways become gray floors instead of sandy floors, or moldy, like the rest of this map.

I was trying to say above my home players were more careful, and hoped for a visual clue that I tried hard not to give.

  • a large city, I have been putting off, now started

The Ice Goddess, map part 21. Note the lack of walls. The last time a strong force came through here to attack the city, seeing no walls which should have been a warning, they never made it through this area.

Map size is 5000' x 4000'. I'll need to adjust various things.

The shadows are long as she wants the illusion of a settnig sun, in the Northwest, to confuse travelers. Looks like some of the shadows need adjusting.

Some of the bitmap fills need work. And more symbols. Or maybe not more symbols.

Path marked P, is the only way through.

The other two paths lead to nowhere.

Cave marked A, it will be subdivided, houses snow ghouls and ghouls.

Most visitors think the large building marked M is where the Ice Goddess resides. It is guarded by wolves. Oh, you can walk right up to the guards and ask for an audience with her, but she isn't in there. The guards will even let you wait, outside. She is down the R path to those small buildings K. Several little old ladies, or illusions, live in various houses. The Ice Goddess lives in one of them.

J ruins, stay away from there, something is lamenting their very existence. Could it be the remnants of the last invading army ?

Path Q will also lead you off to nothingness and cold.

G and H are ice islands. Probably her 'playgrounds'.
