  • Ss6 not working

    Hi,

What do you mean when you say it won't load up? Doesn't CC3+ start with SS6 installed? Or don't you have the SS6 Templates in the City category in the new map wizard? Or are the symbol catalogs missing? I need some more information to try to figure out what the problem could be.

Lorelei's Etrani Estate is now in the atlas. Thanks for yet another great set of maps.

  • stone carvings

No, I don't think I have written anything more about it than the short description in the Tome. You can also see a good example on it's use in Sue's Marine Dungeons style where it is used to cause ripple effects to underwater elements.

  • Auto generate maps by standardized input files

While CC3+ can't import data files like CSV or similar, most drawing commands in CC3+ can be executed using a macro command. So if you are capable of writing a translator yourself to turn those CSV data into CC3+ text commands, that command file can be fed into CC3+ to draw things automatically.

  • Printing a jpg image is giving me a white box of nothing

Do you mind sharing the .fcw with us so we can have a look?

You can also try using the "Rectangular jpg" save option instead, and try to just export a small part of your map. Does that work?

  • CC3 - Save corrupted? Crash upon edit entity properties

Is this for any entity in the map, or is there a specific entity that crashes each time?

Can you share the .fcw with us?

  • Names on maps

Not really sure how well mixing text labels and number labels would work, but in the end, the only way to know is to try and see if you are happy with the result. There are no absolute rules you have to stick to.

If I were to do that though, based on the elements in your list above, I would probably use text labels for geographical features and town names, and then use numbers for "interesting locations" like battle sites, ruins, cultural location, etc.... This seperates "proper" map information from supplementary information.

  • Advice on a creating symbol catalog

It depends on how you plan to use them, but I would probably have put them all into one symbol catalog, and then used collections to either group them by type (so you have all the castles of different colors in one group) or by color (so you have all the red tinted symbols in one collections).

  • What games do you use ProFantasy to create maps for?

Almost exclusively AD&D 2nd ed, with a few cases of Warhammer RPG and Warhammer 40K RPG. Not that most of the maps are particularily system-heavy though.
