Cartographers Annual Jan 2020 (using watabou maps)
Are you selecting the lines correctly? I just did a quick and dirty import following the steps in the guide, and I had no problems trimming the entities.
However, what can be confusing when doing this is:
- The Rivers/Roads when exported from the Watabou site actually consists of multiple lines on top of each other. CC3+'s trim tools work on one line at a time, and even if that line has already been trimmed, it is still a valid line so you can end up basically trimming the same line multiple times, which doesn't really give you any progress.
- Remember that thick lines are still selected by their centerline (this is where the actual line is), not by the edge as a polygon would be

October Community Challenge - City Streets - VOTING POLL in first post
I'll probably never to cities as competions. The most common thing I hear every time someone announce a challenge or competition is "sorry, I just don't have time right now, working on this other map/real life/etc...". And cities are one of the most time-consuming things out there, which certainly wouldn't help with people having time to take part. (And while you can do something like a Watabou city really quick, that wouldn't be much of a mapping challenge considering most of the work is just changing properties on the import, especially when all the entries are like that)
And for that two-parter idea to work, I would have to put really strict rules into place regarding how to build the city for part 1 for it to be suitable, I don't think that is really going to work out well.

WIP Commission, Ancient Tombs
Not sure why the tools are identical. Might be just to allow for different filters to match, i.e bot Terrain ad Vegetation.
I don't think any belongs on a different sheet. both are background polygons, and there are no other sheet where they would fit in as far as I can see. I thought about the vegetation sheet, but then they would end up overlapping things in a weird manner, so I don't think so.

Question about running the CC3+ Program
When you see the fcw32.mac file, you are in the wrong folder. That is the data folder.
When you installed CC3+, it let you pick the location of where to put the data files (which you have put on d). The program files themselves are always installed under C:\Program Files (x86)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus, you don't get to change that. (A few notes here, if you have a non-english installed, these names may display localized in your language, and if you have a 32-bit version of windows, just drop the " (x86)" from the path)
But here is another way to make a desktop shortcut which works for any program (except MS store apps):
- Find the CC3+ icon in your start menu, right click it, select More, and then Open File location in the submenu.
- This will open an explorer window to the location the start menu shortcuts are placed. Now just right click the CC3+ icon here, and choose copy.
- Finally, right click on an empty area of the desktop and choose paste.
Edit: Seems you were posting your latest post as I was writing this, but I'll leave it up for reference.

NAN,NAN Problem
This usually indicates that the map is corrupted in some way.
Try the View menu -> Zooms -> To all Text. Pick one of the entries in the dialog. This will result in the map being zoomed close into that piece of text. Now try to zoom back out using :CC2ZOUT:. Save the map, then close and restart CC3+. Hopefully that takes care of things.
Edit: Snaky mice afoot today...
