  • Are there tools to aid with centering?

There are no exact features like that, your options are basically

    • The Snap grid. Set a rather large spacing, then counting won't be so much an issue. You'll probably want to make sure you have selected a dot type that is a bit large to notice them though. You can set the number of divisions high if you need snapping outside the visible grid. The snap grid is basically the guide feature in CC3+. Remember you can show the grid dots without having snap on.
    • Set up a separate square grid in your map. Again, use large grid cells, and add the grid to a separate sheet and layer. You can then freeze the layer to make sure you don't manipulate the grid accidentally, and you can easily toggle it off/on or add a transparency effect to the sheet.
    • Use the modifiers. The modifiers such as midpoint, endpoint and center helps you place things precisely.

depending on the render the floor below is either too well lit or totally dark.

Have you configured the glow/shadow effect to be in percent of view width perhaps? That really messes things up when you view from different zooms, or make different sizes exports.

  • Select catalog setting window every time I click on wall features (or any other type of feature)

Which dungeon style are you using? If you use the CC3 dungeon style, that's just a vary simple cutdown dungeon style intended for people not owning DD3, and it don't have catalogs for all those dungeon buttons. When using this style, the filters from your previous map would be retained.

The DD3 dungeon style is fully featured, and should have all the appropriate catalogs and filters.

  • Is there a way to get a handrawn look for the grid?

Do you have the 2020 annual? Dyson Logos style "Inked Dungeons" appeared in the April 2020 Issue. Here the floor grid is made using a scalable hatching made up of polygons to be able to create variable width "lines" that look handdrawn.

  • Morta1337y

    Welcome to the forums Morta1337y.

Map looks nice so far, but parts of it do look a little bit empty. Some of those empty sea areas can be made "disappear" simply by throwing in a map title, a compass rose and a scale bar, empty sea is a good place to put those.

It is also a bit difficult to get a good look, since you've only included such a small version. Higher resolution images makes it easier to see the map properly. I recommend about 1000x1000 for inclusion in a forum post.

  • [WIP] Atlas Competition Entry - Coils of the Cold Coroner

    Looks good so far

The first idea was to have a dungeon which would culminate in an encounter with a Lovecraftian creature who will, of course, be cold-themed.

  • CC3+ install major fail

What where the problems with moving the symbols? CC3+ symbols/fills can be anywhere you want them. The location of the CC3+ data directory is specified int he file @.ini in the CC3+ installation directory, and that location is set in the installer (but you can also just edit this file manually later and then move the folder manually). There is nothing in CC3+ that forces the data directory to be on the C drive, although that is the default location. I've moved this folder many times without any issues.

The only issue may be if you have made symbol catalogs yourself (or just inserted image files directly in the map without using symbol catalogs). In these cases, your existing maps may have hardcoded paths to the C-drive instead of the relative path CC3+ uses in it's own configuration. Custom symbol catalogs should always be defined with relative paths as LordEntrails points out above.

    There you go.

  • New Mapmaker, can't print consistently?

Exactly. The first one is printed with effects on. The other with effects off. You should see the difference visually on your screen too, not just on printouts. Use :CC2SHEETS: to turn on/off.
