How to delete perfect overlapping landmass?
@Wyvern's answer is great, but you can shorten it a bit to make it a bit easier (There is no need to do the combine step). Here's his text with just a few small edits from me
Simplest solution is to use the drop-down menu "List" command by selecting both the overlapping objects, and decide which you need to remove from that information. Make a note of the "Tag #" number.
Close the List window, then click the :CC2ERASE: button (left side column).
Then right click to call up the dialogue box, and choose "More" - "Entity Tag #", and then type in the Tag number for the item you want to delete. This will appear in the Command Line (lower left of the CC3+ window). If the number is correct, press the "Enter" key to accept it, and then right click one last time and choose "Do it". That will remove the chosen one of the two overlapping entities.

Live Mapping - Cemetery
I am going to need a cemetery battle map soon, so why not dive into it in a live stream. Nothing like working on a map for actual use.
Stream will go live on Thursday at 18:00 CET as usual. Check the upcoming section in the left forum toolbar for the time in your timezone, or click the video below to have YouTube tell you.

CC3+ Going back to the basics-Overland.
Notice that this behavior can indeed be automatic with the drawing tool, and it is that behaviour the instructions was written against, but it seems that most drawing tools doesn't use it. But if you edit a drawing tool, you'll see it has a setting labeled attach mode, which can be current settings, on or off. Current setting refers to the global attach option, the button down in the lower right of the main gui. On or off is just forcing it to be always on or off. Right click the attach button in the lower right to select exactly which attach option to use, I think endpoint is the default. (The drawing tool can unfortunately not specify which attach option to use, only if it should be used or not)

How does the Displace effect work?
The displacement is based on a normal map. A normal map is basically a grid of vectors encoded using RGB values so you can store it as an image. The vector encoded in each pixel basically determines the direction for the displacement effect at that point.
The texture size tells CC3+ how to scale the texture you pick. If you want a single displacement image to cover the entirety of your map, set the effects units to map units, and the texture size to a value equal to the width (or height) of your map. If the value is lower than your map size, the displacement image will tile (which is usually the way you would use it).
The displacement amount is basically the strength of the effect, i.e how much the pixels should be displaced. May need som experimenting to get this right, and don't be afraid of going to pretty large values.

Guide: Social Logins [Google]
The forum allow you to log in using social media credentials from Google. To do this, simply click the relevant icon next to the Log In/Sign Up buttons, or click the Log In button, and pick the desired service there. The first time you do this, you will get a page from the social platform asking you if you want to grant forum.profantasy.com permission to see your basic details and email address. This is required for the social login to work, and if you don't want this, you can't use social logins, and just need to create an account on the forum normally.
Note that social logins are completely optional, and are there to just as a convenience for those not wanting to remember yet another account, but for those who prefer, you can still create and use a normal account on the forum not connected to social media.
If you are using an ad-blocker or other privacy extension that blocks social media tracking, it may also end up blocking this functionality. If so, you may need to turn of these features for the forum (we don't run ads here, nor do we share your data with social media sites unless you explicitly click one of the share buttons, so these extensions really doesn't do anything for you here anyway), or simply just use a standard forum account instead.
If you don't have an account with the forum
If you try to login with social media without having an existing account on the forum, one will be made for you, and depending on the social media platform you logged in with, you may be asked to fill in one or two additional details at this point to complete the account. This is only done the first time, after that, you have your forum account, and this is the account you will be logged into when using the social media login. You don't need to worry about the fact that this account exists, just keep logging in with your social media account, and the forum itself will take care of this behind the scenes.
If you already have an account with the forum
If you try to login with social media when you already have an existing forum account, the social media login will be linked to that account, as long as the email addresses are the same. If they are not the same, it will be treated as a new account as above.
When linking the accounts, you will be asked for your forum password the first time you log in with your social media account. This is to confirm ownership of that forum account. This will only happen the first time you log in with each social platform to established the link, for subsequent logins you don't have to provide the forum password each time.
Note that logging in with a social media account WILL set your forum username to the name on that social account. So unless your forum username happens to be the name on your social account (usually your real name) already, it will be changed to this. You can change it back from your profile page if you like, but the change will happen every time you log in with the social media account. If you don't want this to happen, simply keep using a standard forum account instead of social media logins.

the dreaded red x symbol
It is certainly not normal behavior for CC3+ to intermittently show red X'es for images that worked earlier, but there are a few external factors I can think of:
- If you have the CC3+ data directory on an external drive like Thescabi mentions, it may be an issue with the drive or connection to the drive. Could also happen with an internal drive if the drive itself was bad.
- Your antivirus is a bit too greedy. Antivirus software often scan files that are opened, and while it does that, it denies other software access. If it keeps the file locked for too long, CC3+'s request may time out, which means it fails to load the file. If this is the case, just hitting :CC2RESMODE: and clear the bitmap cache, check "redraw on ok" and then hit OK should force CC3+ to reload all bitmaps.
- Either the actual bitmap on disk the drawing refers to have been moved, OR if the image is set up with a map-relative path, and you moved the map file but not the corresponding files (The latter is really only a possibility witch custom artwork though, not with the standard symbols and fills from CC3+ and add-ons). You already mentioned you didn't move things, just kept this point here to have a complete list.

Historical Maps
This thread about Historical Maps is one of the curated threads in the Resources category. Here you can find links to various sources for historical maps, mostly online, but also book recommendations and the like. This thread is about actual historical maps from Earth not fantasy maps inspired by the style of historic maps. It also covers modern maps of historical locations.
The link goes to the forum post that brought the content to the forum. A direct link to the content is provided in parenthesis for easy access, but please go to the forum post to discuss the content.
Only this top post is curated, users can use the comments below to add links themselves, but I suggest that you do this by starting your own discussion in the Cartographic Resources category, and link to that discussion from your comment here. That way each source have it's own thread where it can be discussed. I'll add the best links to the curated content, but the comments here will be a way to discover even more resources than I showcase.
As time goes by, some links may get outdated as sites die and gets replaced by other sites. If you find any such links here, please use the Flag link to notify me about this but please don't use Flag to ask me to add links.
