How can you quickly restore missing symbols?
Hi everyone,
I have the recent humble bundle and have found that some of the annual maps have missing symbols. I assume this is some sort of pathing issue.
This example was for Issue 108B.
I am assuming that for any of these Annual maps that we have the whole symbol set used but perhaps I was wrong?
Has anyone had a similar issue?
Thanks,
Mike

I believe, though I don't know for sure, that you may need to download and install the free third party assets from Vintyri. The reason I'm not sure is because I have red Xs also in those maps, and I have all the Profantasy sets. What I don't have is the CSUAC, the Dundjinni archives, and the Vintyri Cartographic Collection.
You can get hold of these sets through links on this page. Installation can be a bit tricky, so be sure to read the installation guides very carefully and do exactly as described.
If I am wrong I do apologize, but I can't think that there would be another reason for it. At the very least you will gain a whole load of new stuff to use.
I didn't mention Bogies Mapping Collection because I do have that one installed, but still have mostly red Xs in those maps.
Thanks Loopysue, I will check it out!
There are several of us, me included, who use the symbols Sue mentions, in our Atlas maps.
The problem appears to be that the symbols are from and older version of the CSUAC collection. I have the latest collection installed and the symbols are missing from my sample maps also. The directory structure of the map and where the current version of installed symbols is different.
Oh dear!
@Kronides Maybe contact Tech Support using the Support tab on your account page to see if they have a solution?
The current version is CSUAC2 and the directory structure is way different than what is in these maps.
I guess the only thing to do, since I assume that they didn't get rid of any of the old symbols but just reorganised them and added more (major assumptions), is to install the new CSUAC and find the files then open the relevant catalogues and click on the ones you think should be in the map, then use Replace in the Symbol Manager.
But that does seem like quite a lot of messing around. Maybe TS have the answer.
I did check a couple of the missing symbols and found them in the new set when I loaded the structures catalog. So it will be a lot of work to fix this for the newer version which I think is the only version you can get now unless you know someone who has the older version archived some where.
To avoid complications arising by doing anything that might be considered to be 'redistribution', it would be better to work on Replace within those sample maps using the Symbol Manager and the newer version of the CSUAC.
TS might know a better way of sorting it out.
I kept the old CSUAC folders, and just added the new ones, CSUAC_2, to my install.
