Community Atlas 500th Map Voting Thread - Please vote

The contest is now over, and the time for voting have come. Please take your time to vote even if you didn't participate in the contest.

Voting will be up until Tuesday March 9th 12:00 CET.

For this competition, there will be prizes for the four best maps, as well as a prize to a map which will be randomly drawn as the official 500th map of the atlas.

The Prizes are as follows (all vouchers are for the ProFantasy store):

Best Map - $50 voucher sponsored by ProFantasy Software Ltd.
Second place - $50 voucher sponsored by JimP
Third Place - $25 voucher sponsored by ProFantasy Software Ltd.
Fourth Place - $25 voucher sponsored by ProFantasy Software Ltd.
500th Map (random draw) - $50 voucher sponsored by ProFantasy Software Ltd.

Each contestant will only be able to win one of the prizes, even with multiple entries. So if the same user have multiple maps in the best maps lineup, the prizes will simply go to the next in line, but you still retain the honor of your placement of course. While mine and Sue's map will be in the running for the honors, we will also be excluded from the actual prizes since she is a ProFantasy employee, and I am hosting this contest. The random draw will take place after the voting have ended, and will included only the maps of the users who have still to win a prize.

All the submissions are below. The voting is at the bottom of this post, there are three polls, which means you can vote for up to three maps. The best map winner is the one with most votes in total across the three polls (no weighting), any ties will be broken by how many people had it in first place. Remember that this contest had the theme of "Fire and/or Ice Dungeon". When voting, please take into account how well the map fits with this theme, and not just which is the prettiest overall.

You can click on any of the maps to see it in a bit higher quality. Note that only the maps eligible for the contest are shown here. Some mappers also provided an area map for the atlas to include the location of their dungeon, but only the dungeon itself is valid for the contest.

Sure Jim. Being a contributor kind of already says you don't want to just win it back. I'll treat you as me and Sue, if you win a prize, the money moves on to the next one.

I second Sue's comments; this was an extremely difficult vote, as there are just so many fascinating maps produced in such different styles.

Hopefully, everyone contributing enjoyed their mapping, and perhaps learnt something fresh along the way.

It's certainly been a delight reviewing them all again now!

Here, here. Excellent job everyone! You made voting extremely difficult, there are some extremely good maps to choose from.

I'm a little dissapointed I didn't get to finish my map in time even though compared to many of the entries it is much simpler. Maybe next time.

I found choosing my best three really tough, as a lot of people have said. I am in awe of everyone's artistic abilities. Some of the things here I wouldn't even think you could do in the software. Thanks everybody. I look forward to studying these fcws and seeing if I can learn anything.

Except for mine: I've got all the artistic talent of a Vogon after three Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters, it's only thanks to the software that I'm able to come up with anything decent.

But yeah, the entries were consistently wonderful, which did indeed make for a tough decision. Thanks Remy for hosting this, and also for everyone else involved. It's been a pleasure participating.

Great turnout, and even greater maps - as for everyone else, voting was EXTREMELY difficult.

Like Jim, if I win any money (unlikely), I would like to donate it to someone else, if that is possible. (I do have someone in mind)

@BlackYeti I just saw your original comment and wanted to say I don't consider myself very good at visual art either. One of the great things about the program is it allows us artistically challenged folks to still make nice maps. Yours included.

The fabulous and fascinating maps presented here show once again a) what can be crated with CC3+ and b) how ambitious and talented mappers here are - all did their best and I think all succeeded very well. ??

...which leads to the the slight "problem" for me as well as for many others here - that it is hard or nearly impossible to decide which maps are best. ?

So if anybody new is asking what you can do with CC3+ or what type dungeons can be created with it - give a link to this discussion to her/him with a plenty of excellent examples!
