Well I just got promoted to Mapmaker. The 30th person on these forums to get that rank.
I don't have many points. Not compared to the top people 1/20 of what they have. I'm at 574 points.
That's from 2016. Nearly 10 years.

Well, the whole rank and points thing in the current form has only been around since late 2020, when the Forum had a major overhaul. Higher ranks have the advantage of getting longer to edit your own posts, which is handy for those of us less adept at avoiding typos, without being a major difference. Beyond that, it's all just a bit of fun, really!
I used to work for a community-written search directory. Never underestimate the power of intangible psychological rewards! They work on me. 😉
No matter the titles, we are all eternal students.

Well, since points acrue over time with every Like, Awesome, Insightful and LOL, we should all end up being Cartographers in the end if we just keep going ;)
The hardest part of all is the 2500 posts. For that you need to make a lot of maps and/or write (speak) (here) more than my mother and Italian aunts when they get together. 🤣
