unsure what I've done to the border

I've done something to the border on the right-hand side and bottom but I don't know how to fix it. I noticed the tree symbols were sliding halfway under the border after a SYMSORT at close quarters at the bottom of the map. Every part of the boarder is on the correct sheet - I checked that first! LIST revealed something but I don't have the understanding as to what I'm looking at or what to do to fix it. If someone can tell me what to do, I'll have a go at fixing it myself before resorting to uploading the .fcw file.

What is the Info on the inside pieces of the right and bottom parts of the frame where the trees appear to be on top?
Sue - taking your question at face value, when i type Info into the command line all i get is "There is no layer with this name" and below that is HIDDEN LINKS.
Sorry! I meant can you do a List on those two pieces in particular?
They seem to be the only bits of the frame not behaving properly.
Bizarrely its only the bits below the river! Anyhow, here you are Sue.
Go sheet by sheet. This looks to me that you put some symbols on a wrong sheet.
Thanks Helen.
Since they all appear to be on the correct sheet I'm inclined to think as Don is thinking - that it's the trees that may be on the wrong sheet.
The trees are all either on SYMBOLS TREES or FOREST, @Don Anderson Jr. Also MAP BORDER is the last sheet.
I know you would prefer to sort this out yourself, but I'm having visualisation problems.
Please can you upload the FCW?
Did you do any "change properties" Did you accidentally select one of the lines and move it to another layer.
I'm going to load a map and see how many entities form the whole border.
here it is.
Thank you :)
The missing bits of the frame are on the "SYMBOLS trees back" sheet. If you hide all the other sheets you should be able to grab them without any of the trees and move them back to the "MAP BORDER" sheet.
symbols trees back
You inadverdantly moved some of the border items to that sheet.
Here is the FCW, if you want it.
No I haven't or at least not close to the edge of the map. In my experience the borders change depending on the template you're using, so there's no one answer. The green line that lurks under the map is either 4 separate lines or 2 which mirror the actual border.
LMAO. Wanted to be helpful and you beat me by seconds arg.
You were helpful, Don.
With a bit more practice we can be a team :)
thank you both for your help. I'll know what to check if it happens again.
Whenever you have issues like this, it is almost always something on the wrong sheet.
Sometimes the easiest way is to go through the sheets one by one.
If you issue the command
SAUTOHIDEON
you put CC3+ into only displaying one sheet at a time mode. You can then go to the next sheet with theSNEXT
command or previous one usingSPREV
command, or to a specified sheet by using theSSET SheetName
command. There is a small bug where the sheet indicator in the status bar says Common Sheet even if that is not the active sheet. Issuing a REDRAW command (or Ctrl +R) updates this to show the proper sheet.
Once you have identified what is wrong, which should be obvious when you work through the sheets like that, you can turn normal sheet display back on and show all sheets with
SHOWSHTF *
.What - this is awesome. I mess up so many times, because I jump around on my maps and fail to look at the current sheet. This is going to be a game changer.
I may have to practice this to ingrane it to my brain.
Thanks Monsen.
Monsen, is that the same thing as using the "Autohide all sheets except current and COMMON" checkbox in the Sheets window?
I think so.
If you check the "Autohide all sheets..." box and keep the dialog open, you can move through the sheets by picking the next one and hitting the Apply button.
Or, if you don't like having to peer around the edges of the dialog you can shut the dialog once you pick the autohide option and use the Next Sheet option in the right click menu of the Sheets and Effects button (or the Display Speed button).
