This is a really cute idea. Are the sticky notes themselves to be the rooms, or is the idea that you click on the note to remove it and reveal a room drawn below?
Might be worth thinking of some variants for many of the "commoner" symbols too - if it really was hand-drawn, none would be the same, after all, so the option for a few variants would be useful.
I'm not sure about the shadows on the symbols, however. It's rather breaking the illusion for me, as they wouldn't be there on the real thing. Or rather they might be, but in a different way - where the drawn lines are all slightly indented into the paper surface.
Can the paper colour for the sticky notes be changed easily? I know there are some sticky note pads in colours other than yellow now, so that might be interesting to explore as well - maybe the boss chamber would be more helpful on a pink/red sheet, for instance, as a GM's reminder (again if this were the real thing).
I have yellow for now, but it would not be hard to make different colors. That would mean I would have to make the symbols color change as well. They are yellow. I have not tried to make symbols that change colors.
As for the shadows, I had them off, but I like them on when looking at the whole map. I was hoping they would look like pencil under draw.
There are more symbols I'm working on, like Scotch tape, and I'm attempting to create a font to match.
Thanks for the responses and ideas. I like this one myself enough not to jump into another idea, "Corkboard City."
I created a bright pink sticky note draw tool, and a grayscale sticky note draw tool that you can use the colorize effect to make it any color you want.
I have examples of Varicolour symbols, thank you by the way Loopysue.
I think I'm going to make them hollow, not filled, as if done with a pack of multi-colored gel pens.
Also when I'm done, I would like to share all this with you. A gift to some really great forum members, for your help and ideas.
This is such a cute idea. I love the lined paper background. You could also have a graph paper background as an alternative. (Your cork board idea sounds fun, too.)
If anyone knows what I need to do to make it so when you click cave, door, and other icons to get singled out symbols. Do I need folders or just symbol separate catalogs?

The sticky notes are rooms.
But one corner isn't curling-up where the glue hasn't stuck properly, unlike the real things 😉!
So I'm thinking of making look like what someone would do if they where having a really slow day in the office.
I'll see about corner curls. I really like that idea.
I laughed when I saw this. Honestly, I've done this with real sticky notes on gaming nights that I wasn't prepared with a map. LOL. Love it!
Getting there slowly.
Did you know someone's split virtual water on your page 😉?!
I started to like this more then I thought I would. So I decided start over and really give it a go.
I got the files set up properly, actually created a style template, have sizes correct.
I redid the floors.
Well this is what I have so far...
Well I kind of done.
I made an alternative background. If I want paper, unhide it, and hide the grid.
I'll probably make more symbols.
Could make an annual style out of this.
Thank you.
I feel like I need to make some more symbols that are commonly used in dungeons.
Secret and concealed doors, and other things I'm forgetting.

I made a few more symbols.
The items on the tables are symbols as well.
The whole concept does look amazing!

Varicolour symbols aren't too difficult to make. If you have the Tome its on p113. If you need any help just shout.
Font is done, and I learned how to make Varicolour symbols. They are next.
Hello Again,
I feel like I am spamming this discussion.

That looks great :)
I think this could perhaps be turned into an Annual. What do you think, @Ralf
And then you can use the color key effect to see the room below!
Wait, wait. That probably wasn't the intent at all, was it?

You can hide the paper, and unhide the grid and have graph paper.
I could probably do something with layers to hide certain sticky notes to reveal rooms below.
Hello Again,
This is going to be the second to the last post.
My nest post well just say done, and I fill like I have enough symbols.
I'm Done. Just tidying up bit.
If anyone knows what I need to do to make it so when you click cave, door, and other icons to get singled out symbols. Do I need folders or just symbol separate catalogs?
You can make separate symbol catalogues from the same folder if you haven't split them into subfolders.
Check out page 90 in the Tome for the basics.
If you get stuck, just shout.
Just for fun!
Everything has be tested.
Remember the old yellow paper in school? I adjusted it so paper color can be changed.
Now it is finished!!
