Scale issues
Hey, me again :) I am working on a map, and I am having weird scaling issues. I have noticed this for a few days, and not sure what is happening. I can place the same symbol, both say the scale is 1.0. Kinda lost as to how to fix this. Image is included, using the townhall in default under ss5

Have you at any point scaled that building using the Symbol Manager?
If you haven't don't try it as that will only add to the problem. Symbol Manager scaling is very different to adjusting the scale of a single symbol when you are placing it.
No. I didn't know about a scale manager :) I have accidentally used Control, but then clicked it back.
Do you mean you have cured the problem?
No. Though roomie thinks when I use the street houses, they are too small. But the scaling is still wierd. The Dock is huge. and it doesn't explain why when i placed the Townhall before it was scaled for the houses, and now it, and all others in that list, are massive, but still say scale is 1.00
You mentioned Control earlier. I'm guessing you mean the CTRL key. On it's own the CTRL key scales symbols on the fly - larger or smaller depending on which way you move your mouse.
The SHIFT key on its own is used to rotate the symbol in 15 degree stops.
If you hold the SHIFT key down and then the CTRL key as well you can free rotate the symbol by moving the mouse.
Sometimes accidental scaling results when you press the CTRL key before the SHIFT key. That may have been the cause of this problem but it is only you who can say whether that is the case or not.
If you do end up with a strange scale at any point just right click while you have the symbol on your crosshairs and either click "Set normal" or manually set the scale to 1.
Aye, I know that :) The problem is more that the scale for each symbol is read as 1.00 according to Symbol>Scale Symbols on Page (or something similar, dont have it open). Not sure why it would do that
List on a symbol gives the info on a symbol. I think what you are talking about just shows the symbol scale for the map. If I understood that is.
Symbols -> Scale symbols in map doesn't set the symbols to a specific scale, it scales them by that amount. If you use that on your symbols and scale by 1, they will simply stay whatever scale they are. Same if you set it to 0.5, you halve the scale of any symbols, so if it was already 0.5, it will end up at 0.25, while if it was 1, it will scale them to 0.5. It is a command to change the scale by a relative amount, not read out the current scale.
To check the scale of any symbol, you have to do as JimP suggest, use List on them, that will reveal the current scale of that particular symbol.
