How to check an entity's properties?

Since the edit properties tool opens a window with the default properties, how do I check an entity's properties to, for example, find the reason for an unexpected behavior compared to another entity?

You can use List under the Info menu.
That will open a blue window showing all the information about the entity you have picked.
Thank you, very helpful! Sadly it seems like properties aren't the reason for these bizarre inconsistencies I'm seeing in this map...
Do you mean the green line ? Or something else ?
The green line and the different thickness between the coastlines. But I solved it - for some reason halfway through making the map, my "border -area" tool got turned into a "border - closed" tool that doesn't fill the whole area, just creates an outline around it.
Meanwhile I hadn't realized that the coastline of land created with the landmass tool is an entity in and of itself, so trying to change line thickness ended up hiding my islands' landmass entirely, leaving only the coastline. I just moved all the coastlines to the coastline sheet and land to the land sheet, so I was able to tweak them individually. Problem solved.
Now, for the part I really hate: finding a good terrain texture and actually making the damn thing look good.
Just make a map and post. Folks will look at it and make suggestions to get it to look like you want it.
They did the same for me years ago. I've improved a bit.
Don't forget that there are some really handy sheet effects that can help you with the visuals. There are quite a lot of them, so it might be helpful to take a quick look at this video. It's one of our live mapping sessions in which Ralf Schemman discusses the uses of all the sheet effects.

Yup, I'm working on that. Right now I mostly only have landmass though so I'd like to get a few things sorted before posting the map itself.
