This is a Show&Tell, but it isn't my Show&Tell. I came across this guy's YouTube channel. He maps underwater caves and he does some really beautiful work. I wanted to share it with the CC community because I know you folks will appreciate what he's creating and perhaps it may be inspiration for projects that y'all are doing or may do in future.
At present, he has dive tutorials in his site, but I saw a interview with him and he says in future he's planning to add cartography tutorials. His methods for underwater-cave mapping are the same for dry-cave mapping just without the scuba gear. All the map downloads are free.

The downloadable maps (just a couple at this point) are must-sees for potential cave mappers looking for something beyond the basics. Probably the single key aspect, and one which, although we've had discussions about before on the Forum, is often neglected, revolves around the many cross-sectional drawings on specific lines on each map.
This could be done already using the modern cave mapping style from the 2007 July Cartographer's Annual, which is even better!
This was quite interesting. Quite a bit of work surveying and mapping an underwater cave like that.
Indeed. He said the Cenote Dos Palmas map took him a year and a half and over 100 dives to complete and while mapping it, he discovered four, previously unknown chambers.
And Remy....nice to see you again. :)
fascinating maps.
Thanks! These are really nice - added them to my thought starters files
