I finally remember that on level 4 of Dwarf Home, there is a water fall that goes down to levels 5, 6, and maybe 7.
My task now, don't worry I got the 1200 plus Traveller planets done I was working on last year, is to extend DH levels 5, 6, and maybe 7, so they have lakes and water falls with the water fall on level 4 as a source.
Level 4 | Level 5 | level 6 | level 7
Notice the huge cavern on level 5. Yes, thats a castle in the center, on a hundreds of feet tall pedistal. The chasm drops to 6th level.
Six and 7 levels are barely there and will require significanly more maps... Of course, I could make sections 2 maps wide, instead of filling in all of the rows possible with maps... We shall see.
Here is the starting map for level 4.

Maybe cursed if somebody remove a piece?
Depends on the distance between them. Too close and the long drop would cause massive damage quickly. I don't remember the depth difference but it could be 100 feet.
Dwarf Home distances sizes of levels. The room quantities are out of date.
Anyway, blue map, using an earlier Annual issue #12. And the 'Alternate' map using Dungeon DD3 Color. I'm not keeping the exact original room layout. Level 1 for these alternate maps will be more of the basement of the ruins instead of the tossed together maps ideas I had back about 1981.
My Dwarf Home download page still has the 1200 pixel wide maps in a zip file.
I noticed that folks are downloading individual maps and the zips, so I have temporarily stopped updated Dwarf Home.
I forgot to mention months ago that i have moved Dwarf Home. It is no longer a sub-domain, it will be part of crestofastar. Currently, not much there.
I'll be working on that in the months to come. Along with everything else.
So links to Dwarf Home will give you a 404 not found page until then.
And here are the first 14 maps of the new Dwarf Home. I already had some done.
1) No room descriptions.
2) Some of the maps need work on the doors, contents, and text.
Looks good, Jim
Thanks. Some of the maps look terrible.
Somehow, I know not, the 'Dwarf Home' level line got on the Caves layer. They should be on text now.
I may make the outer glow on the text larger. What I see when looking at that page, is the text is fuzzy.
Oh, in case some folks don't want to click on the link.
I had to make the brick fill larger than I wanted, as at smaller scale it looks like a rolling series of ridges. I currently have it set to 100, but it was at 20. That's scaled width and height. DD3 Color\Brick Brown V_LO.PNG. I jumped up the mosaic to.
I just noticed it is very low.png
I think it looks fine, Jim.
I agree it looks good now. But the brick fill at 20 x 20 on this map looked off.
Here is the brick at 20 x 20.
Bricks are so small that they generally don't look good when filling large areas and you zoom out, the tiny pattern just becomes a mess. They look great when zoomed in though. So you kind of have to decide which view is prioritized.
I'll go with the large bricks.
I made a side view for levels 1 through 3.
I would like to continue this. Anyone have suggestions on how to keep this up so they match the top down views ? Larger in my gallery in Megadungeon.
I have updated the maps so the text is the same outer glow and outer glow range. Main navigation menus are updated as well.
the 'level01' page above has not had the thumbnails linked to the articles/posts pages. But the menus are correct, just above them. I rearranged the main navigation menus so they take up less horizontal room.
The thumbnails at the below link for Dwarf Home level 01 are now clickable.
I have added any links needed for each Dwarf Home map on level 01 so that a map that connects to 1 or more maps, there is a link on that map's article/page. No need to do a search for the next part.
I guess what I am trying to ask, is there a better way to show the different levels ? Or is this it ?
Well, you could make a pretty illustration using the Vertical Dungeons style, basically treating it is an overview, an not a complete dungeon.
That does have possibilities, but I would have to draw more parts for it. I think.
Maps A, B, and C now have room descriptions on my site.
It is set to 100' x 100'. It appears to be locked to that size. Is there a way to unlock it in the Wizard and use 500' x 500' ?
Thanks.
This is a 100' x 100' version. I guess I could do a 'scale model' of the original side view, or use multiple of these on an html page on my site.
